I don't switch off the telly/change channel even when we are losing badly so I'll have to say no, I don't do it :D

After Gillingham you think our fans especially would have learned.
It's always happened tho, happened a lot at Maine Road (Main Stand especially) and continues to happen now

I suppose it's up to the individual, but I don't understand it - if you're there to watch football, you might as well stick it out, especially if it's an entertaining game. Can't imagine watching a mint film and leaving ten minutes before the end.
Mind you, there's a guy sits near us who turns up pissed after 20 mins, leaves ten minutes before half time, and repeats his performance in the second half. And every home game we have to shout to him which row he sits in, and stumbles confusedly up and down the steps.

You stepped all over the right point there. You pay for entertainment just like everyone else does, no more or less than paying for a ticket to see a film or a concert. You are not serving a sentence at Strangeways, there is zero requirement for any paying customer to stay one second longer than they want to. It's entirely in the realm of the arrogantly delusional that believes there is some sacred bond between fan and player and that they have a duty to perform on the team's behalf. And I'd put a £300M bet that the whole concern a club has for your attendance evaporates into nothingness the moment you walk through the turnstile.

Maybe your sidestepping around the point, which is that people go to watch football because they like the game, so why not watch the game, rather than some of it. Seems a bit pointless to not watch it all. Not saying people who leave early are traitors or anything 'arrogantly delusional'(!) like that, just that you might as well watch what you've turned up to watch.

Not sidestepping it, but we aren't really talking about people who are standing around disinterested. And everyone seems to have your opinion if a little more vehemently.
BTW, I only quoted you cause you made the point, not as a direct criticism, I think if anyone it was probably aimed at john who treats attending games like swearing fealty to the crown. How dare you leave the Crusade early!!!

Was gonna leave the thread early, but thought I'd stay to say 'fair do's'.

Is being a supporter delusional? Well i'd take that than be self-centerd.
