Grannysh*gger charged...

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

I can guarantee you that he will not contest the charge, but he will contest the length of the punishment and appeal for a reduction to a 1 match ban.

Foul and abusive language is a red card offence so he should have got a 3 match ban IMO

Fantastic news! I thought they'd go for the fine but a ban would be fitting and might shut the fucking arsehole up in the future.

Dont you risk getting a further ban by appealing?

I think that's the case if it's deemed a 'frivolous' appeal. Presumably that means if you put both hands on hips, smile & wink whilst doing it.

Glad he might get what he deserved but it's not necessarily good fur us.I will judge that after we have played them.

Yes you do, an extra game. Like someone said above though, he will admit and get the ban reduced to one game

He will accept the charge but appeal the severity, the ban will be reduced to 1 which will be a knock-over home win against Fulham.

Utd will be ecstatic that he gets the reduction, the FA dont lose face as they still "tried to give him a longer ban" and he will of course be free to play against us.

Now, where can I get a bet on as sure as hell fire it will transpire like that.

Does anyone remember what punishment Drogba received for his chumps league outburst last season?

I actually don't think grannyshagger has a case to answer here. He's a complete tool, but should only be fined a shitload of money.

I wonder if Grandma is going to this one. They've probably sorted her a seat near the front.

what WW said = should have been a 3 match ban anyway. i don't think it can be extended by the way when the appeal is against the punishment rather than the charge.

I know the idea of him being suspended and Vidic being injured makes our job easier, but I want to beat these cunts at full strength, no excuses, no discounting the result, beat the strongest they have and laugh at the cunts and tell them they peaked 10 years ago and are going down like a munich aeroplane.

Drogba go a 3 match ban extended to 4 upon appeal, however that was dished out by FIFA and Drogba was wearing flipflops at the time. The FA will bottle this and give him 1 match (if any at all) if he appeals imo

Well, it ooks as though the defence has started....Just as it did during the Wio drugs affair.

Gordon Taylor has made a statement to say that Shrek shouldn't have been charged in the 1st place. Hos argument is that "Industrial language, whilst not condoned, is wrong when directed at match officials but when done spontaneously during a celebration, is already accepted in the game". Before the FA can charge Shrek, they should 1st notify players that industrial language is no longer acceptable during celebrations........make of that what you will.

This is reminiscent of what happened just before the Wio drugs hearing. Some heavyweight mover and shakers were dragged out their cupboards in order to set a "rag acceptable" public agenda and pressurise the FA. The Guardian said at the time that it was tantamount to the accused in court notifying the juudge what an acceptable sentence would be.

I have no trust that the FA have ever had much in the way of bollox and I don't think they have grown any recently.

I'd argue that Bacon's current ban suggests otherwise. We'll see. I expect an admission of guilt and a reduction to one match.

It wasn't a spontaneous celebration though, you could understand that if the cameras had picked up the sound by accident, but looking directly into the camera and repeating it allowed him plenty of time to consider what he was doing. The fact he has previous for it (the world cup) should only make it worse for him.

Agree that a 1 match ban is all he is likely to get however.
