Kolarov beat someone in a sprint for the ball yesterday. The bloke was moving about as fast as my Granny (& she's dead) but it was the 1st time it's happened all season & it was encouraging. Looked more like a Prem Lg player than he has all season but not quite MOTM standard imo.

DeJong was pretty much on his own on many occasions when we lost the ball & somehow managed to slow Sunderland down or win the ball, so, although there were plenty of great performances, he gets MOTM from me.

De Jong and Toure, that certainly looked like an effective midfield duo going forward and defending. More of the same, please Roberto.

NIGEL. Immense.

No bad performances though. Was more convinced by the penalty on replay than when I saw it at the game, which was good as I felt we were a bit lucky at the time.

I thought NDJ was immense yesterday. Favourable mentions to Kompany, Lescott, AJ and Silva. Even Mancini should get a mention for the best piece of control I have seen in years !!

The back four were awesome, but very little got that far thanks to NDJ. He's my man of the match.

Lescott is still performing brilliantly and I like how he seems such a team player. Did anyone else see him run over to Boyata to congratulate him for his part in the first goal, before dragging him down to where the other lads were celebrating? I thought that was a real touch of class.

It's hard to see what, if anything, him and Kompany lack as a partnership. They complement one another brilliantly. With how comfortable they look playing together, you'd think they'd played as many games together as Terry/Carvalho, Ferdinand/Vidic, Carragher/Hyypia or any of the other great CB pairings in the history of the Premier League.

I'm very impressed.

Yes! I want to see that again it was quality, he didn't just kill the ball, he made it exctinct.

I like the way Bruce looked at him and gave him the 'nod bad' look, better than you could have done even at your *laff* peak.

I said I would have loved to have a 25yo Mancini in our side and one of my mates pulled me up on my "nothing good for City ever comes from Italy" post a few days ago.

One of the toughest choices that I can remember.
But I went for my man, Big Nige again: his job was that much this week; or, at least, theoretically.
And its great to see him back in form, in time for the Cup semi-final.

Bite their legs, Nige!

Its great to see Lescott performing, consistently, and to a high standard.
Him and Fab Vinny are probably the best CB pairing in the Premier League, right now, and might come to eclipse the likes of Vidic-Ferdinand, and Keown-Adams, in time
