Three Home Wins.

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Three Home Wins.

Postby Piccsnumberoneblue » Tue Apr 05, 2011 11:54 am

I have a very strong suspicion that three home wins would take us to fourth whether we got another point away from home or not.
It would leave us on 65 with a superior goal difference to Spuds.
That in turn would leave them needed 16 points from their other seven games.
They include Arse (h) Chelsea(a) and Scouse (a) Only dropping five points from those seven games would be a tough task. Even the supposed home "gimme's" will carry a lot of pressure.
So I'm viewing anything we get at Scouse 1 and 2, and Blackburn as a bonus, insurance if you like. Hope it's all done and dusted by the last day at Bolton. I suspect it will.

I remember a thread like this last year.

We only need 3 wins and all that, then Spurs went and beat Arse,Rags and Chelsea in a row.

Please please,no chicken counting.

Yep. That was on my mind as I was typing it out.
But...
If all goes according to plan home games against West Ham, Stoke and Spuds will get us across the line.
It's just to make myself feel better I think.

West Ham - figting for their lives
Spuds- fighting for 4th
Stoke - bunch of cnuts

9 points would be amazing from that little lot.

You beat me too it Kiers, I can remember thinking last season that we had the better run in than Spurs and they would slip up , but they stepped it up. I dont think I could go through that heartache again so am just taking each game as it comes , and our last game was a bloody cracker .

We could afford to miss the Champs league last year, this year we cant.

We need to be in it for the revenue that will come to the club through sponsorship and all the players we have now want to paly in it.

Carlos and Daveed,Yaya,Johnno,De Jong,Vinny,Lescott,Hart etc are good enough.

One thing is for certain. We are going to absolutely DICK and JIZZ all over scousepool this weekend. They are pure shite. That's an away win to add to the pile.

I thinbk there have been a couple of threads like this, this week. Spot on about chicken counting as it really wouldn't surprise me to see Spurs beat that lot again.

This. If we get 9 points from those 3 we should be at least 4th at the end of the season.... hopefully.

Let's not forget that Spurs have the CL tie with Madrid to deal with, which last season they didn't have. Add that to a run in which seems harder than ours and I think this time fourth is way beyond their reach.

IMHO We need 70 ish points.

1 Chelsea 38 17 1 1 68 14 10 4 5 35 18 +71 86
2 Man Utd 38 16 1 2 52 12 11 3 5 34 16 +58 85
3 Arsenal 38 15 2 2 48 15 8 4 7 35 26 +42 75
4 Tottenham 38 14 2 3 40 12 7 5 7 27 29 +26 70
5 Man City 38 12 4 3 41 20 6 9 4 32 25 +28 67

Last year.

1 Man Utd 31 14 1 0 40 9 5 8 3 28 23 +36 66
2 Arsenal 30 10 3 3 30 12 7 5 2 29 17 +30 59
3 Man City 31 10 4 2 28 11 6 4 5 22 16 +23 56
4 Chelsea 30 10 2 2 28 9 6 5 5 26 16 +29 55
5 Tottenham 30 7 6 1 19 10 6 5 5 22 24 +7 50

We still need 5 wins for me.

Liverpool v Man City D
Blackburn v Man City W
Man City v West Ham W
Everton v Man City D/L
Man City v Tottenham ???????
Man City v Stoke ???????

Bolton v Man City W

IMHO THE THREE HIGHLIGHTED GAMES WILL MAKE OR BREAK OUR YEAR and we need to take something from every single one.

Personally I think we'll piss all over Spurs at home this year. We are a much better team than last year, they are not and they are not as good as they are cracked up to be by Sky pundits. But we'll be so far ahead of them by then it wont matter. The mentality of the club right now should be - and seems to be - going for 2nd. Just wish the fans would match the optimism!

Just a thought...has anyone bothered about looking above us to see who we could possibly catch, instead of looking below and worrying about a safety net.
Huh!..talk about a winning mentality...whining one maybe.

Though unlikely, we are more than capable of winning each individual game left...that would give us 77pts.
It would be intersting if we discussed that sort of scenario....but hey ho!

Yeah I did :D Arse is there to catch, and United...well they're ten points ahead, but there's still 21 points to play for, you know.

Whatever happened to taking one game at a time? Giving Liverpool a seeing to would be great next Monday.
