Maybe if Dave Bernstein has anything to do with it, he will get 3 games.

You can see how the 4 hour appeal will go, it'll be over in minutes. Someone will mention Englands Superstar playing in the FAs flagship event and they'll crumble like an addicts teeth chewing a frozen Snickers.

PS. Come On Chelsea!

Its like an all too predictable, really shit pantomime.

Ban will be reduced to 1 game and the FA will think they have still saved face, whilst Utd will be ecstatic that Rooney misses a meaningless knock-over home win against Fulham.

Which they probably would have rested him for anyway - which the FA know full well

The Football Association will confirm whether Wayne Rooney will be free to face Manchester City in this month's FA Cup semi-final at 10am on Thursday.

Rooney has appealed his two-match ban for using offensive, insulting and/or abusive language at Upton Park on Saturday, believing it to be too excessive for the charge, which he accepted.

The Red Devils ace was charged by the FA after launching into a foul-mouthed tirade into a television camera after finding the back of the net from the penalty spot.

As it presently stands, United's forward will miss Saturday's Premier League encounter with Fulham and the eagerly-anticipated clash with City at Wembley on April 16.

A conclusion will be reached later on Wednesday before being relayed to the Old Trafford club.

However, the FA are sympathetic about the timing of any public release, which would come just a couple of hours before United tackle Chelsea in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final at Stamford Bridge.
Announcement

And, after consultation between both parties, it has been agreed the official media announcement will not be made until the morning, by which time United, and Rooney, will be back in Manchester.

Rooney is risking his ban being increased by appealing. However, United are convinced the suspension should be cut by a three-man disciplinary panel and have the support of the Professional Footballers' Association.

"If he is unsuccessful in his appeal the commission could look on the case as not being truly exceptional," said PFA deputy chief executive John Bramhall.

"But from my experience, the circumstances surrounding his case are unprecedented and therefore you would say it was truly exceptional."

It is believed Rooney's argument centres around the swiftness of his apology, which came within hours of the final whistle at Upton Park, and the fact his comments were not directed at anyone in particular.

You just know he's going to be able to play in the semi, the FA need to fucking man up and give him an extra game for even appealing.

if he gets a two game ban, well, do burtons still have windows I can show my arse in?

There's more chance of me captaining the rags in the semi than him being banned for it.

I've never even remotely got my hopes up that he might be banned

No fucking chance he'll be banned for the semi.....I don't care. FA has no balls, they lick United's arse constantly and they get preferential treatment fairly consistently. I cannot remotely see them changing their house policy for this one, especially not in the circumstances of the upcoming game in question.

The cynic in me says this will be reduced to one but my gut feeling is that there has been too much hype over it for the FA to back down. I think the two game ban will be upheld or the appeal viewed as frivolous and the ban increased to three games.
