I wonder if Ian Holloway would win several titles & a European trophy if you put him in charge of Aberdeen.

Fergie is a great manager but he is not a magician taking a bunch of shit players to glory, all of them bar Smalling and Hernandez have been there and done it.

I'd agree with that.
However for me the line between success and failure is very thin and if he doesn't get those things I think if the Sheikh wants rid of him its quite understandable, cos I would if he didn't.
For me he either has to do enough to be manager of year or he is gone.

If he set us up to play most games like he did v Sunderland he could stay for 20 years for me, even if we finish 6th. We'll start winning stuff sooner or later, whatever style we play. I'd rather be patient watching us attack than watching us defend.

My nominations

Coyle - Results speak for themselves but he's actually turned them into a good football team. His achievements with Burnley were equally as impressive.

Holloway - IF, he keeps Blackpool up he deserves to be knighted. They are possibly the weakest squad to ever play in the Premier League, they should be already relegated. But he's kept them fighting, kept them in the hunt and not resorted to Big Same tactics in doing it.

Ferguson - United will win the league thats a certainty. If he adds either the FA Cup or Champs League than he deserves. Possibly deserves it for just winning the league if they go close in the Champs. Im not having this weak United bullshit either. They are a strong team with tons of experience. Lethal in front of goal and have a champions mentality. But Ferguson is as important as their great team.

McLeish - At a time when all the big guns value the Carling Cup he's went and won it. More impressive than Bor's as there seems to be a new found desire for it. This couples with safety is a great achievment.

Can't see any other alternatives tbh as theres being alot of underachieving on Chelsea and Liverpools part. Arsenal have no bottle and the world has a far too bleak look on the way we play football for Bobby to even go close.

Not only has he taken them up the league, but he started it by saving a team that had been used to clogging it up the ptich, playing anti-football for years and years and turned them into a pretty attractive side.

A couple of additions and they'll be dangerous next season. All this on the back of getting a very unlikely Burnley side promoted.

Excellent manager so far.

I've seen maybe 1/3 of their games this season and they've been my favourite side to watch as a neutral. The complete antithesis of Allardyce's anti-football. I really hope we get them in the final next month so it's a decent game.

Elmander's contract's up in the summer. I think Coyle (who deserves the MOTY) would be happy just to steady the ship really.
