Really, really need to beat Liverpool to keep the 6 point between us and Spurs and leapfrog Chelsea again.

This is the most important game of the season mate.

Remember the week before last when that was the most important game of the season? Or the one a few before that? Well they were nothing compared to this.

Until next week, this is the most important game of the season.

These games right now are our chance to pretty much cement top 4. You may not realise it but the way Bob sent the team out v Sunderland suggests that he does. If we'd lost v Sunderland, this game would now be taking on panic proportions & because of that it's unlikely we'd get a result & the whole mood of the club would now be down. That's why the Sunderland game was so important. As it stands, because we beat Sunderland, we can lose to Liverpool & still be technically ahead of Spurs game in hand because of our goal difference. I recon it's already unlikely Spurs will finish above us now because of the way the fixtures pan out. If we beat Liverpool though we will be flying & Spurs will have everything to lose. They are starting to feel it now.

This spell, right now, is our big chance to make the end of the season a cruise rather than a nailbiter.

A weekend in which we are expected to take 3 points and don't and Spurs are expected to lose but don't....that's an important weekend.

This weekend is an opportunity to pick up points we never would have counted on, nothing more.

We have been looking at the fixtures for ages & picking this, the Everton game & the Spurs game as our most likely fuck up moments. Liverpool have just lost Gerrard, Johnson & Whatsisface & we have just produced our best attacking performance of the season. This is a chance to put our 2nd worst remaining away game to bed. We have well & truly had some rag type good fortune here & we need to cash in on it.

Play Johnson, Balotelli, Tevez and Silva. Give them something to worry about. Won't happen though, Mancini's far too defensive to do this in an away game.

No-one did us any favours over the weekend and in a perverse way I am glad. We (and Mancini) need the team to step up to the plate and show that they are good enough to get top 4 by merit.

I believe that they are easily good enough in talent terms and we know that they can beat pretty much anyone on their day. Well, it's all in their own hands, they just need to make sure that they have "their day" at least 7 more times in the league and no-one can stop us getting to the CL purely on merit.

I echo most of what has been said here in terms of our ability for the final charge, starting today at Liverpool. I only hope that we have a bit more positivness than we have thus far shown when playing away to Rags, Chelsea and Arsenal. We can only wonder what a more attacking option would have achieved, but i would bet it would have yielded more than 1 point from 9.

Give it a go, give Liverpool more problems than they give us, trust the backline to hold firm, and take our chances, which we will surely create. Sounds simple on the surface, but I think we are at least starting to believe in ourselves more, the team and the supporters alike.

an extremely important game, as every game will be till we're mathematically certain of at least 4th. It's in our own hands and ifwe win every game, there's nothing spurs can do to catch us. We don't need any favours, so let's make the most of the opportunity.

A week which could define the future of the club, as 4th and a cup would look very different than 5th and a semi final loss. Get it right, bob probably keeps his job, the likes of silva syay and worries about fair play rules disappear

I agree but with one exception. I don't want to tempt fate, but mark fucking halsey can stop us.

The same Mark Halsey who gave us the extra five minutes in '99/worked his way back to the Premiership after a cancer diagnosis? If City fans were to be partial to any ref in the league, surely it has to be him.

I'm not too sure that demi-god Halsey has been to good for us of late. I seem to remember we didn't win a game with him a couple of seasons back. We did beat Leicester under his officiation though, so maybe he's making amends.
