Fixtures

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Fixtures

Postby ashton287 » Mon Apr 11, 2011 9:46 pm

Just the league fixtures seen as there's a ten day rest after sat and spuds are out of the CL as of tomorrow,

City

A Blackburn Rovers
H West Ham United
A Everton
H Spurs
H Stoke City
A Bolton Wanderers

SPURS

H Arsenal
H West Brom
A Chelsea
H Blackpool
A City
A Liverpool
H Brum

Now obviously the girl's on here have all shit their knickers and are shaking in the corner of a dark room crying and cursing mancini's name but i don't think we have much to worry about looking at it. Liverpool away, as any reasonable person that knows much about football will tell you, is a draw at best considering our away form and their home form. Then a freak injury to tevez results in them getting an easy goal and we are chasing the game without our best player.

Looking at the fixtures though i think it rest's on our home form which has been better than decent. We have lost 2 and one of them was with ten men for 87 minutes.

So i think some people should take a step back from it all and calm down a little.

Just sayiiin...

Despite feeling as gutted as I do with the manner of the defeat, when I ran the predictor the other week I had us down to lose this one and still finish 4 clear of Spurs. It is the performance more than the result that people are angry about (I assume) as well as those who simply don't like Mancini's way of going about things.

We are still in the top 4 and a semi final and negativity is not going to help us find form for the crucial remaining games.
So I agree, we should all calm down, but maybe in a couple of hours.

I'm still confident that we'll finish 4th. Spurs would rather have our fixtures than theirs.
Everyone on this site is getting a little too dramatic. A loss at Liverpool isn't the end of the world.

I still think we'll finish 4th, and like a few people, had us down for maybe a draw here, but that 'performance' was unacceptable.

I am looking at the fixtures and i am trying to find a 100 % winningable game.

A Blackburn Rovers - After the 1-1 in september, this game will be even harder. Last year we won without problem, but was the first fixture of the season.

H West Ham United - WHU are almost down. They will go all the way with us. They can''t affort to lose.

A Everton - No words. Hate this fucking fixture. I am almost certain AGAIN smth will happen. The most weird game of every season for me.

H Spurs - Decisive. Again like last year. They know how to act in big games, we don't. Hopefully they won't ruin another birthday for me, like last year.

(H) Stoke City and (A) Bolton Wanderers - Winnigble. If Stoke and Bolton will be in a good position, they will not make us problems. The Bolton game is a cracker, knowing that Spuds lost there.

All in all, better fixtures than Spuds, but is important that we are mentally prepared for them.

I have thought for a while that top 4 for City would be achieved more on the basis that Spurs don't do well rather than City play great. As long as we win against Stoke and WHU and don't lose to Spurs I think one other win would guarantee it but can we get one at Everton,Blackburn or Bolton?

This.

They played Arsenal, Chelsea and United back to back to back and we all thought they would drop 9 points.... they got 6 or 7 if I remember correctly.
so now as every enemy circles our city

If the above we're right, we'd get it by a point. I've only put a win at Bolton down as I'm hoping they're in the final and therefore Coyle makes the same idiotic team selection and preparation as girlcini did last night. Considering Chelsea's form, I could see spurs getting something there as well, and they are more than capable of beating us.

Ultimately, it will come down to who has the most bottle - so that's a semi-final defeat and 5th place for us then.

The final is before the Bolton game, so they'll have nothing to lose.

We´ll only get 8 points - 2 of each WDL - not enough - season will end in a damp squib and an almighty inquest once again and Bob down the frog and toad - sorry that´s how I see it atm - haven´t won away since Dec so why should we win any of our remaining ones and we can fuclin well write off 3 points at Everscum

.............................Last Year........Prediction
A Blackburn Rovers.........3..................3
H West Ham United .......3..................3
A Everton....................0..................0
H Spurs......................0..................0
H Stoke City.................3..................1
A Bolton Wanderers........1...................1
TOTAL......................10 points..........8 points

Beating Blackburn and West Ham is essential - if Spurs slip up then the pressure returns to them but if they win their two games (before we get to play Blackburn) then the pressure is on us and I can only see us defending deeper and looking for those 1 nil results like last season.

No Doug, I can't. We have failed to win away this year mate, including very difficlut trips to AC Notts County and Real Leicester.

But it's City, anything can happen, including smashing them on Saturday. OK, I doubt it, but the 5-1, you know, it can happen. We had no chance that day, none. This side, when selected properly and not by the manager when drunk, is better, obviously.

As for the league, it all comes down to the 6-pointer v Spurs. It's deja vu all over again. Lol.

Bugger, forgot about that.

Congratulations 'Arry. Hope you have a good run in the Champions League again next season.
