United's wingers

United's wingers

I've got this horrible feeling that Nani, Valencia and Giggs will tear apart our fulbacks. They always seem to do. Last season in the 4-3 game, Giggs got past Richards every time, in the Carling Cup, Valencia gave us a torrid game. In the game this season wehre we lost, Nani skimmed Zabaleta every time.
This is the problem we most have to deal with, they always kill us out wide and with that little runt Hernandez, they're bound to score if they get the ball in the box.

Whilst Zabaleta is good, Nani absolutely had his number last time we played them. And although Richards is great going forward, his weaknesses remain at the back.

How would you approach this? Possibly playing SWP? He always plays well vs United and gets back a lot.

This is why I want Mancini to attack. If we park the bus we will be fucked.

This. Surely even Mancini realises that we can't play for a draw in this one.

Why did I read this as 'United Swingers'?

Agreed. Even when Keegan got us promoted back to the Premier League we attacked and got our just rewards. History has shown time and time again that if you play against this shower you have to attack them and show bottle at the same time. Unfortunately you just can't see the current manager realising this.

United will target us out wide because that's their strong point and our weak point. We need to give Carrick and Scholes ZERO time on the ball. We can't allow them to pick passes out wide.

well every scum fan i know (and thats alot) is saying the same thing over and over again to me, they are so sure that they have so much pace down the wings that they will simply run us into the ground. Oh and not forgeting that they believe we have a horrid diffence and there is know way we can cope with Burbaflop and pissy pee or what ever they bloody call him.
Im really not sure we can win this game, but if there is any justice in this bloody world these wankers will be made to look like the cunts they are.

So they know it, we know it, if Bobby and his staff don't realize it and try something to address the problem they will really look clueless.

So everyone here has said its a problem but how would you personally deal with it? I'd attack and get at them, the more we attack the less we have to defend. Nani will beat Zab in a one on one 9/10 times.

Not worried about the united wingers one bit.

Zabba and Micah are up for this.

Zabba on twitter has been psyching himself up all week for this and everyone knows how much the derby means to Richards.

On derby day if your head is in the game and you want it, any player can rise way beyond the standard level. It's the way the derby is.

I've a feeling our fullbacks without a doubt will bring the "A" game, more so than any other part of the team.

No fear!

I'd rather have SWP as left back than Kolarov to be honest.

I'm also up for the game. Doesn't mean I could deal with Nani. Last time we played he beat Zabaleta every time.So saying he won't this time because 'its a derby' is silly. More hope than expectation.

this is key for me, no matter how good nani and valencia (or whoever else for that matter) can play. If they arent getting the ball it doesnt really matter. We have too many times let the old and slow Scholes destroy us with running the game from the centre and feeding their wingers, there is NO excuse for this if DeJong is given the job of stopping it. Once the ball gets out to the wingers and its one on one with the full backs, we are going to stuggle. (especially as they historically get no help what so ever from the wingers)

Jesus! Have faith people, just because they play for United doesn't make them gods! I know what you mean though I too could not deal with Nani and I'm mega psyched for this one, that said I am not a professional footballer...

On their day, Micah and Zabba can handle anything United throw at us. Micah has proved his steel in derbys and Zabba has had his moments too.

All I'm saying is that we should concentrate on our players taking it too these twats, rather than crapping it and wondering how defensive should we be to keep Nani, ect quiet.

It's counter productive.

I say hit um with all we have, Go all in on this one.

Win or lose, I want us to give it everything!

Based on what? At Old Trafford, Nani beat Zabaleta in a one on one situation every single time.
So to say Zab will deal with him is more hope than expectation.

I have faith in the mad argie, as I do the rest of the team.

What I'm basing my rantings on is my years of following city.

Given how we have been playing and how the rags are playing we are up against it but this is city, the unexpected is king here.

Make no mistake we are heading into the game underdogs... we thrive in this situation.

Have faith is all i'm saying. I believe in the lads, you should too. There's alot to be said for some blind faith :D
