Jeez aside from the borrowing to bet bit its actually not exactly like that but dont want to get into the nitty gritty of my finances(my fault for saying borrowing though), my issue is more the moral of betting against your own team to soften the blow, is it immoral? Bear in mind i havent done it im just considering doing it so calling me a complete moron etc is pointless! Ironic thing is as some of you know i work for a gambling company and some of my work revolves around responsible gambling so i know a thing or two about it!

Sorry mate, are you in Sydney or back in Ireland?? Either way £100 for a return flight, footy, spends and some beers is pretty dam good!!

Dont bet what you dont have. If your trying to make £100 by borrowing £200 regardless of your love for City you need to take a step back and asses!! Sorry mate dont want to be a kill joy.

Back in Dublin mate... unfortunately :(, could do with updating my details though!
derby day the scores were level,

Don't be borrowing £200.00 to bet for £100.00 insurance against disappointment, it's madness.

Your prob right about just kicking back, cant enjoy it at all at the moment and fear the worse, feel like getting sick when i think of losing it.....

Exactly. And if we win, believe me, finding 200 notes you don't have WILL take the shine of it.

I think you can shelve it now mate, the board has spoken!

How someone can bet against their own team is unbelievable.

I don't get that kind of thinking. I've made money many times by betting against my fav teams various sports.
thing is, I NEVER, Ever, hope that I win from the bets. (That of course means the bets are not big either)

In betting the best situation is if you have some sort of edge against others or the betting company. The betting companies give the odds days before the event and obviously as you follow your team closely you may find out for example that a manager is planning to play a weakened side (=meaning the odds of losing change drastically) while the betting company still has the old odds. It just might make sense to play against your own team.
And, at least in my case, even if City loses and I make money I am not happy woth the result. It only makes the defeat slightly easier to take

Here is my advice.

If we lose spend 200 quid on a hooker that will take it up the Garry Glitter......it wont numb the pain for ever...but it will give you some relief for an hour or so.

Better that than betting on the scum of the earth.
THEY SAY SWEARING IS DUE TO A LIMITED VOCABULARY. I KNOW THOUSANDS OF WORDS, BUT I STILL PREFER "FUCK OFF" TO "GO AWAY"

Don't really get the rage about betting against us.
Wouldn't do it myself unless we were a couple up and then may do it "in running" to save against one of their Houdini acts but if somebody decides that a financial gain helps dull the pain of a loss to them then knock yourself out. Each to their own.
Don't like that you'd have to borrow the stake money though, that's a slippery slope.

I did but a tenner on the Rags at 9's for the CL prior to the second leg of the Marseille tie. I'd be quite happy to wave that one goodbye.
