Marvellous!

what a tool you are if you would prefer us to not win the FA cup so that the manager can get the chop

Did I say that?? Fool?

IF ???

The implication wasn't IF mate.

Of course I want us to win the cup.
I just don't want the buffoon in charge next season but somehow feel the two go hand in hand.

I suspect it'll be the opposite. He would have been worried before hand, but after last night and with tevez out, he'll be playing for penalties.

He can't risk balotelli in a high pressure game and they may as well have a competition on the website to play centre forward than send Dzeko out there. He'll go with de jong, barry and yaya in the middle, with milner and silva a bit wider, but not getting forwards. He could drop one of the latter two and put Vieira in if he's really worried. Dzeko will be left on his own to chat with vidic. Occasionally, we might try a hopeful punt into a channel, but mainly, we'll look scared to leave our own half.

Just a thought but I wonder if AJ could usefully step in to replace Tevez at CF ?? However, would such a possibility ever cross Mancini's mind ??

Why him and not anyone else? KK said SWP would become a top centre forward.

While sacking the manager is not usually the answer, I think the quicker we are rid of such a defensive minded manager the better. Seems to me the players either don’t fully understand or like Mancini's system. There's definitely something amiss......

The league was there for the taking this year, and with the riches we have he should have gone for it hammer and tongs, but instead he plays for draws (esp away from home and against the so called big teams), as emphasized by the performances against the scum this year when he was so frightened to lose it was pathetic. If Holloway had been our manager with his gung ho tactics we'd be top of the bstrd league!!

He has a Serie A mentality which frankly is no good for this league. Managers like Owen Coyle, or even Di Matteo have had their teams playing some lovely football with workhorses and average players and yet Mancini has had us blowing hot and cold with a collection of very good players. His man management skills also I think leave a lot to be desired. We haven't advanced one iota since Hughes.

Play like last night on Saturday and we might as well hand the FA cup to the rags.

Glad somebody bumped this.

During the first half, especially early on I thought we were fucked, but the way we came out in the second half I had absolutely no doubts that we would win. Mancios half time talk, If not his whole game plan has to take a lot of the praise.

And the manager was.

It seems to happen far too often that when we lose the manager takes the blame, but when we win the players take the blame. It's a collective effort and today every one of them did their job to perfection.

That's how I saw it. I thought in the second half ( after a good little spell before half time) we came out and played like Vinnie,Nigel and Zaba.It suddenly looked like it really meant something as we closed down quicker and better.
Barry said the gaffer didn't say much at half time and was pleased with the way the half had ended but if he didn't say something I think somebody did as there was a marked difference to the start.

I'm MORE than happy to give credit where it's due today.

Quite where that second half performance came from I don't know ....... but it didn't come from an increase in effort, it came from a total change of mental approach - and for that Roberto Mancini, I assume, must take all of the plaudits.

As I've just said in a different thread : IF he can get us producing the goods like that consistently I will be delighted to shut the fuck up.

He went absolutely ballistic before our good spell so he must have passed something on then, the commentators said that Kolarov was passing on instructions to the rest of the back 4. And then in the 2nd half we came out and the midfield pressed on much more. I thought he got most things right today and didn't panic when things looked to be going against us.

That's right he was going ape and it seemed the back 4 pushed a little higher up from then.

he got it spot on today, infact it was 100% perfect. As much as some of you are very fast to knock you should be just the same to come out and hold your hands up and say well done. This will be the thing to push us all the way to a top 4 finish, that with the chance of a bit of silver too means he has done the very thing we have all dreamed of for far to long.......

I hope more than anything in the whole wide footballing world that Mancio plays like we did in the second half in every game we play in the future, for ever and ever. Then there'll be no more Mancini out threads.

He wasn't 100% today but he scored very highly - he was a little slow to tinker with our defensive line but once he'd spotted it and addressed it we played very well from then onwards in the first half. Couldn't fault his substitution of AJ for SWP when we needed fresh legs to run at their ten men. Personally I didn't like to see us shutting up shop when we only had a one goal cushion, so I wasn't too pleased to see Paddy V come on for Silva..

For 30 mins we were diabolical and then we turned it on like we all know we can...........we hassled for every ball and the scum do not like that...well done for getting the team to finally play from the 30th minute onwards..........we have not won fuckall yet.....but we are at least into the final.

Ecstatic overall.

For mine, he saved both his and Balo's career today. By making the final we've made progress yet again. Even if we come fifth, he can stay.

Today was the first time I can recall he actually looked like he had a fire under him. He has been so stoic and motionless lately, I am not sure he could have motivated a starving man to eat. Today he showed the fire and passion needed to push the team. He was on his feet his arms moving, not across his chest sulking. It is clear someone like Balo needs to be constantly TOLD to do things. The team lacked interest and motivation versus Liverpool (when Mancini was merely a spectator), that clearly was not the case today.

Now if he could just get the player selection right (what the hell was he going to do if Scum scored a late goal? We had no pace outside of SWP left on the pitch.. but less I digress) and couple that with the fire he had today EVERY match, I would be very happy to have him around. If he folds his arms again next Monday, it would also not surprise me.
I've come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass... and I am all out of bubblegum.
