The Kompany team talk?

Postby paulmclaren » Tue Apr 19, 2011 2:21 am

Anyone else here about this?
Supposed to of told 'all' management to leave the dressing room, so it's just him and the players.
And gave the speech of kings to the boys for the second half.
What a fucking legend, he will go down as citys best ever player i think.
Up there with Bell, what a player...

Vincent Kompany hailed Manchester City's win at Wembley as "symbolic", but accepts there is "a little gap" between them and the title chasers.

Vincent Kompany only had to look at the faces of Manchester City's long-serving members of staff at Wembley yesterday to understand exactly what a place in the FA Cup final means.

It is a measure of the transformation City have undergone since Sheikh Mansour completed his multi-million pound Blues buy-out in 2008 than Kompany has been at Eastlands for a greater period than any other outfield player in the starting line-up that overcame Manchester United.

Yet, with under three years' service behind him, Kompany needed the experience of others to encapsulate exactly what City have achieved by ending their 30-year wait for a major final appearance.

"There are people who have been at the club for far longer than any of the players and you can see in their faces what this means," said the Belgium international.
"It is not about one individual. It is about this club and I can honestly say I felt proud to wear the Manchester City jersey and be part of the team that is going to bring those people back to Wembley for the final

I don't know if such talk actually happened but if it did well, I think we have found ourselves a new captain if Tevez leaves in the summer (I'd give it to Vince anyway, but I guess Carlos wouldn't take it too well if he stayed and was stripped of the band...). Absolute legend.

At last! Someone who understands what this club is all about. It may have taken a while but i think the penny may have dropped for some of our multimillion pound players. For too long certain members of the squad have kissed the badge without reading whats under it which should embody EVERY players performance in EVERY game. 'Superbia in Proelio' , Pride in Battle! For those players that haven't realised this Komany is the man to show them the path forward. Next season Kompany WILL and MUST be captain.

If they didn't know or understand about the people and Manchester City FC I'm quite sure they do now after seeing the faces of 33,000 loons at the semi. Surely we can't screw this up now.

It's common for Mancini, Platt and the other coaches to talk outside the dressing room for 5-10 mins about tactics and the players at half time. So this would give players plenty of time to "chat" to each other.

Tevez should have been stripped off the Captain's armband the second he handed in that transfer request.

I Think we all know why he has named captain in the first place. Correct me if i am wrong, but he doesn't even speak english and this is his 5th year in UK, so i don't know how he can motivate the squad in half time, speaking in spanish.

At any level of football, even the Sunday pub team, there are always those players who become leaders on the pitch. The ones who urge you on, calm you down and generally seem to organise the team. Whether he wears an armband is irrelevant, he's the guy that the others take notice of and he's the guy who takes responsibility.
It doesn't matter who wears that bit of elastic round his arm at City, Kompany seems to be the guy who is the captain. The players are aware of that and I think that judging by stories from Wembley, so is he.
I KNOW THAT YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU UNDERSTOOD WHAT YOU THINK I WROTE, BUT I AM NOT SURE YOU REALISE THAT WHAT YOU READ IS NOT WHAT I MEANT

I said it at the time and unfortunately his performances of late have backed up that theory

The way he pulled Balotelli towards the city fans when security and staff were sending him down the tunnel confirmed to me even more he should be our captain. Would Tevez have done that?

Agreed...I felt sorry for Ballo who was walking off (so it seemed) when Vince ran and jumped on him to join in the festivities then he went mental.........That is a leader and no..Tevez would not have done fuckall......if he was any kind of Captain he would have been at City's biggest ever match for 30 odd yrs......his fucking injury had little to do with him being in Milan IMO....the club just killed 2 birds with one stone...doctor coincidently in Milan....Milan officials meet to tie up his deal with them.

Thankyou for the goals.......bye.

That could well have been a make or break moment for Balo - time will tell :-)

I have not heard anything about the team talk , but I did notice the way he was firing the players up as they were coming out of the tunnel for the second half , he is a true leader.

What I did like was when we came out of the tunnel at the start, the Rags looked like a 2nd class force while we came out like Boxer's wanting to knock the fuckers out.

Vinny captain, Nigel vice and Tevez in Milan. That's how i see it next season.

In total agreement on the Tevez not being at semi, should have been there, end of. He would and could have had treatement in London while being around the team. Rooney didnt have to be there but was. Just about had it with Tevez. Super super player but it's all about me with him. Give me ten NDJ all day long.
