He has been directly to blame for a number of goals in the last six or seven games and I am afraid Saturday's performance does not change anything.

If you were that keen to see him do well, surely you wouldn't be as quick to criticise him after a good performance?

But he is spot on...Kolorov has been fucking dire 99% of this season.....it cannot be brushed under the carpet just because he played well on Saturday.
Needs to go in the Summer imo.

Let's give him the benefit of the doubt - he was injured in his first game and has perhaps struggled to adapt. Maybe Saturday was the first game he felt sharp and up to premier league pace in.

Or perhaps Valencia isn't fit coming back from an injury?

Anyway, Kolarov has a few games till the end of the season to prove himself. For a start we've got two difficult games against Stoke where his additional height should pick him ahead of Zabba who might get exposed. If he can play well, have a decent pre-season, you never know

I'm sure I've even convinced myself, but Nani was rubbish for his first few seasons and is now in the team of the year, Tevez was useless for the first six months or so at West Ham and then kept them up, and there were people on here criticising de jong after hsi first season, so maybe we should be a bit more patient with our imports.

You have a point but considering the next few games are the most important games ever....we cannot take a gamble..if hes to play then put him in midfield but not at left back.

I think he's never really had a chance to get in any proper shape. Started with a busted ankle, and has been unlucky with injury from then on in. I dont think we'll see a fair representation of the player Kolarov is or isnt until next season, after a bit of rest, a proper pre-season and a consistent run of games. That he's actually been carrying that ankle all year would explain a lot about his missing pace. I think he's going to come good in the end...

Providing Micah is fit, I'd go with Zabs at left back every time, but let's hope Kolarov looks like £14m worth of fullback next season.

Still think people underestimate what he gives us going forward. He is one of the few players who is always looking to push forward and bomb on,always giving the midfielders an option to pass to. Even if it doesn't always lead to goals, what this does is keeps the opposition pinned inside their own half and pushes our team further up the pitch. He was brilliant at this after we took the lead on Saturday.

Defensively he played quite well. Valencia is a very tricky winger capable of giving any fullback the runaround and he got skimmed once or twice but you'd expect Valencia to beat his fullback a couple of times at least.

I was pleasantly suprised with his performance on Saturday.

I have seen him take one for the team. A great goal saving dive it was.

But yeah, judge him properly next season.

You're the first person to mention that Dazza and I stated it straight away. Berbaflop was put off by the challenge otherwise he woulda buried it. Every credit to Kolarov for that challenge. The game could have been so different if he hadn't have made it:o)

He saved us there and outplayed Valencia (and later Nani) in every aspect of the game. He was great against Sunderland too but awful against Liverpool.

There's clearly talent there that we weren't seeing a month ago. Hopefully he settles and gives us more of the same in the next few weeks.

I'd say keep him but get clichy or baines if possible in the summer - or taiwo from lyon

Baines (and Assou Ekotto) have seemed like the two best left backs in the league to me this season. Neither would come and neither manager would sell to us though.

Taiwo's on a free transfer (still don't think he's signed a new deal with Marseille). Great player in their title winning season. Could easily be Kolarov mk. II though; great with the ball but unable to adjust to the Prem. On a Bosman though we should definitely be in there.

I was banging on about Assou Ekotto on Friday night. he always seems to keep our wingers quiet. I'd snap him up.
On Kolorov, I worried a great deal about Valencia against him and thought he'd rip him to bits, but it certainly wasn't a feature of the game.

He isnt the player I expected, and i'm abit sick of his 35 yard screamers when there are plenty of other options. I know they might go in, once in 50 attempts, but really, think before you shoot!
