I cannot beleive how much the media are creeping to Twitchy...Todays result is being claimed as a huge one for West brom.."considering how Spurs are playing"....(Those words used by the SSN reporter). Today's result seems pretty near par for the course to me.
I reckon Liverpool have a more than good chance of overtaking them. I have never thought the City V Spurs game would be crucial. We'll be away from them and comfortable by then.

I think the media are feeling sorry for spurs after getting humiliated by Real and ending the media fantasy.

I'm also thinking that they will be out of it by the time they play us.. been thinking for a while they took their eye of the prem due to CL and now they can't pick it back up. In practical terms also they simply leak a lot of goals.. look at their GD. I can't see them plugging that and it will ultimately cost them. I'd back the Pool to haul them in right now.

Trouble is I'm not particularly expecting us to storm to the end of the season.. more stutter, so I'm not going to gloat over spurs struggling just yet. I'm more than a bit concerned with Blackburn who need a result soon or are in deep doo.

Unbelievable.A team desperate to get top 4 and they string results together like that. And we are still not certain of finishing above them!

Blackburn will be a difficult game. I'd be happy with a point

West Ham without Parker and Upson played very well at Chelsea. Clubs iin their position will play like Cup Finalists when there's only a handful of games left to save themelves

You'd be happy with a point Marvin, even though BBs current form is 3 points from 18 having drawn to Newcastle, Blackpool and Brum in their last 3 homes. A point is the minimum with that back stabbing Kean in charge and I'd be seriously pissed at that mate.

@ Douglas
In all fairness Doug, it isn't just the results that show Spur's poor form, it is also the quality of the teams they dropped the points against.
In the comparative fixtures, City have already gained 1 point more, with the home games versus West Ham and Stoke still to play.

Spurs are now 2 points adrift from us, have an inferior goal difference and a game less to catch us up. 3 of their remaining 5 games are away against top 6 clubs.

I sincerely don't see Spurs being a danger to us. The media representation of them as being a team in form and a cavalier attack, is just nonsense. The facts tell a much different story.

Absolutely right John. But from a distance out and Liverpool only just waking up Spurs have been realistically the only team that could stop City getting a top 4 slot.We have done our bit to keep them in with a chance and they havent taken it or even put much pressure on us.Liverpool have looked like the team who,on current form, are more likely to get 4th but they simply had too much to do.That's why it was so frustrating to turn up at Liverpool and effectively let them have the 3 points.

We have the chance now to win 2 games back to back and end the torment. Which City will we see at Blackburn?

Yep, Liverpool are in great form but our two catch up games mean they could be anywhere between 4 and 10 points behind us with four to play. Even if they keep going like they have it should be too much for them to make up.

Spurs might be on a bad run but they weren't fantastic last year either. A win at COMS (or vs Liverpool and Chelsea) would change things completely. They did it last year so there's every chance they could do it again. They're still a huge threat and will be for another couple of weeks.

I'm assuming nothing (good or bad), just taking each round of matches as they come.

Can't see arsenal winning today at all. Bolton will be looking to put in a good performance after last week and arsenal is filled with gutless cunts without a hint of a leader. They've already given up on this season

Agree, this will be the game that ends Arsenal's title hopes

@ Douglas,
Unlike many on here, I don't view the Liverpool debacle as as big a deal as many on here. I also think Mancini was right to take the spine out to safeguard from injury. despite the tightness of the 4th place race and the opportunity to put some distance between us and Spurs, I think the form of Spurs allowed Mancini to take the risk, with the semi in mind.
That semi was a much bigger game than many seem to think. It wasn't just a derby or a semi, it was a watershed game for us...we HAD to win.
That semi was our 1968 game. It was the game that we announced to the football World that we had arrived on the stage. Up until that game, we had been merely stood in the wings waiting. It is now up to us to play the part now we're there.

I agree that Liverpool have too much to do and am absolutely convinced that as long as we keep our heads, 4th place is safely ours. Despite the huge gap at present, I am still looking for an opportunity for us to possibly nick 3rd. A big ask but mathematically still possible.

ARSENAL...v...THE RAGS
THE RAGS...v...CHELSEA
CHELSEA...v...SPURS
LIVERPOOL v...SPURS
CITY...v...SPURS

While there's maths there's hope!!!

Goal from Sturridge at a corner. Deserved after his great chip to win the corner. 7 goals in 9 at Bolton now.
