Got to say I am absolutely chuffed to bits to see Bury have managed to grab promotion today, away from home at "champions elect" Chesterfield with a 3.2 win.
Manager Alan Knill left to go to Scunthorpe 7/8 games ago just as the promotion push was faltering, caretaker Richie Barker's philosophy was attacking football home and away, incredibly, despite all the doubters he won every single game since he came in, achieving promotion with 2 games to spare, clawing back a 13 point deficit on Chesterfield to 2 points, and giving them a shout of the title.
I have been to all the games in that run aside from today (typical) and last week when we were at Wembley, and have to say it has been brilliant to watch the spirit of the team.
Perhaps someone somewhere at our beloved club could take note that attacking in games (particularly away games) means you have a statistically higher chance of winning them - win a sequence of games, and its amazing what can happen to the table and the teams around you at this stage of the season.
But well done to Bury and Richie Barker, magnificent achievement
