Mariner was a fucking joke, tried his very best to turn the result into Blackburn's favour. Glad we got the 3 points.

good win that, good to get that 'no away win in 2011' monkey off our back as well. we played well first half, but from blackburn's point of view if you're going to put jason roberts up front, you're not going to score goals. they gave it a good go at the end. hart deserves credit for that olssen save.

A disgrace the lot of them - Smith, Coleman and Friedel - anyone who doesn´t think there is an anti-City agenda at Sky watch a re-run of their coverage tonight. It couldn´t have been more biased if they´d tried - twats!

Did you just hear chimp boy Friedel? Blackburn deserved to win cos they were the better team. My arse!

At he end of the day I don't care how we win, 3 points is all that counts. On Sunday we can do Wet Spam and hope Chelski do Spuds on Saturday. then we are 7 points clear. 2 points closer to the Arse who knows what may happen. I would like to be clear by the Spuds game and beat them in revenge for last season. O happy days could be just around the corner.

A frustrating watch with abysmal officiating and a cnut of a ref but three very welcome points.

Yaya really impressing in the forward role,Balo needs to show more of the talent he allegedly has and Kolarov just needs to go.

DJ,Silva,Zaba,Lescott had a great game.

Kompany and AJ not their best.

Barry was Barry.

Did i mention the ref was a cnut......

All this talk about counts has to come back to the back-stabbing manager of Blackburn:

"There was contact on Jason and Nikola was too honest at the end maybe. From our keeper's point of view, when the goal goes in Mario Balotelli's standing right in front of Paul Robinson and he's offside"

Quit whining ya cunt

Barry might be Barry, with his massive arse that takes out two players per game as he tries to turn, but once again when he got forward we created the chance that won the game.

Great result, great 1st half, fucking abysmal 2nd half.

I can understand that Blackburn stepped it up, played more long ball, closed down quicker, the ref gave them almost every 50/50 decision etc etc but what I can't understand is why, when we got away from them & into open space, we couldn't pass the ball ten yards. We just passed it back to them.

Stoke will be watching that with great interest. If we're to win the cup, we'll have to be much better.

Still, if the rent boys can do us a favour, we get the chance to pretty much sew up 4th this weekend.

Good finish Dzeko. Hopefully the first of many to justifying his transfer fee.

Good performance, we totally dominated them at times and while they got back into the game (aided by the ref) we didn't fold, we kept at it and were a threat on the break even when we couldn't build possession.

de Jong is just so much fun to watch when he's in that form, great passing as usual but he does so much to slow or stop opposition breaks: fantastic. There was some solid defending but we did leave a few chances, particularly from one of their many set-pieces. Free-kicks were free today. All the play-acting cost them whatever chance at a penalty they had.

Dzeko was really good when he came on. Held the ball well and was able to resist pressure with his back to goal then lay off for us to try and attack the space. He was so so happy after the final whistle and after his goal. You could see what it meant for him.

I actually think we were better without Dzeko & Balotelli.

Not that I don't see a future for them, just that imo, so far, the team was, on the whole, more solid before they became fully involved.

I thought the 2nd half at Wembley and the majority of the game (certainly the first half) we played some of the best football I have seen us play all season... all without Tevez...

Wembley 2nd half I agree but on the whole, Tevez is better than Balo & Dzeko put together imo, even when he doesn't score. Hopefully that will change as I recon he's off.

Just can't agree. At Wembley it was a very good performance after 30 minutes but far far from the best football we have played in terms of flowing football.Great team stuff though. Tonight we were very good for a while but a lot of that was to do with BBurn being badly set up.Once they got sorted our football almost dried up and our lone front man was anonymous.

And in both games imo we would probably have done better with a fit firing Tevez.
