You'll find that a lot of fans have City as their "2nd club". After all, we were the boy never really won anything for a long time, but was liked anyway, because he was brave and nice. Now that little boy has grown up and is challenging dominance of the playground. All the big boys fear him now, but all the other little boys who all feel the same as this one little boy once did support him. Away with those big bullies! Blue moon rising!

I like WHU though, as I do with Blackpool. The EPL needs more festive colours.

Dont mind West Ham, decent traditional club and good supporters too. Hope they do manage to stay up though obviously not by gaining any points at our expense.

A win for Stoke tonight would suit us, be bad for Wolves and be good for West Ham.

I'd like to see West Ham stay up.

Nice read - WHU and Sheff Wed were the two other clubs I've had something of a soft spot for growing up.

By the way, was scouring a Stoke forum the other day; why do they hate us so much? Didn't realize either club cared about the other in any major way.

i've never understood why so many fans of other clubs just seem to 'like' west ham. i have to say that their annoying owners and loser's demeanour throughout the course of the lats few seasons has really got on my tits. i feel sorry for fans of any club who is clearly big enough to be in the premier league and ends up getting relegated. but really, what exactly are they bringing to the table?

also i think it's a bit pathetic that just because other teams say nice stuff about us, we 'like' them back.

I never gave a shit about west ham until Walmai joined and posted some cracking stuff and made me listen up to the WHU plight. Since then I have worked with a couple of really good blokes who are hammers, one has become a good friend and is at the game on Sunday (in the east stand) as one of my mates bought him a ticket.

West ham are officially my 64th team, after city, city reservers, ladies, u18, u17, u16 etc etc etc etc etc

I do like them better than any other prem team though

Walmai is sound, because of that reason i want them to stay up.
Gold and Sullivan are wankers though and i wouldnt like the idea of rattling round a souless bowl aka the Olympic Stadium in the Championship.

Hope they manage to stay up and Wigan,Wolves and Blackburn fuck off for good.

Oh forgot to add i hope they get fuck all on Sunday apart from a right royal hiding.

That's the thing, we got lucky with our takeover, they weren't, but they've battled through against the odds. They're a good side who haven't been able to string together a good run for a few years and so end up playing snakes and ladders, exactly the same as us.

I look at them and I sympathise because they are where we would be, if things had worked out differently and if they can hold things together for a while they should end up being a strong club. The prem will be better off for having teams like that around rather than Wigan.

I wish them a lot of luck with the stadium, they're doing the right thing. It'll be better for London and the legacy of the games that the stadium isn't a white elephant and does something for athletics (the reason it was built), plus it fucks Spurs.

I've always had a soft spot for the Hammers since my schooldays in the 1960s. One of my pals suddenly declared one day he was a West Ham fan and we used to pull his leg mercilessly, because most of the names of the first team players began with the letter 'B'.

The only ones I can now remember after all these years are/were Bovington, Bonds, Brabrook, Boyce and Brown (John68 might come to my assistance here ??) but my pal took all the schoolboy ribbing in good part and simply said that, on that basis, they should simply be called 'B'est Ham.

Because/in spite of something so ridiculous, after all these years, I still like them and would hate to see them go down.

More kind words from some Hammers today.

Unfortunately they are all but relegated now with Blackpool and Wolves winning today.
