The Yaya Toure 'Munich' song

Strange isn't it that the title of the thread is the 'Munich Song' which, by my reckoning, has not been sung for a very long time. Does anyone remember the song in question?

And the point I'm trying to make is that we City fans, or the majority anyway, do realise what that song is all about and do feel a sense of sympathy at what actually happened that day, which was obviously shown at the Derby a couple of years back. The word 'Munich' is used now to quite literally brand them to their support in a derogatory way and in no way has any relevance to what happened back then.

I think people are getting too precious of these little words, because that's all they are - Words.

Whatever the moral rights and wrongs of the munich word when used about the rags, whether as a disrepectful jibe at their dead or simply as a derogatory brand name. It had proven a useful tool for the media to batter us.
I wonder why the rag's media friends have never picked up on the heysel, Hillbrough, Shankly, Russian submariners or Turks carrying knives efforts by the rags?

A film about the Munich air crash is to be released very soon. Watch out for the media response in defending the rags against anything that they find uncomfortable.

Singing Munich stuff has always been a bit of a giggle to me, same as bad jokes about thalidomide in the 70s and the tsunami jokes of the last few years, but I hear what the club says, I hear what Nijinsky says and I'm prepared to have a go

It is not just about the M-word (it's so emotional, those poor, poor boys, I just can't imagine what hell they went through so I can't, I just CAN'T bring myself to say munich - oops) though is it? It is a whole way of life. If you say it, you are not worth anything. You are scum. You are lowlife. You are not worthy of being a City fan. You have no respect for anything or anyone ever. No matter what good you may do in what you laughingly call your life, THIS is the ONLY thing that counts: the M-word. Banning is just not enough for these creatures. Sterilisation is the minimum one can reasonably expect the authorities to implement in order to rid our society of these individuals. Maybe that's not even enough. It needs to be a capital offence. Really it does. Those poor, poor, brave boys deserve nothing less.

The more I read through this thread, the more there is a little worm niggling my brain.
Before reading it, I was non committal, I didn't personally use it but over the years having been somewhat desensitised to its use, it wasn't really high in my agenda and never gave it much thought one way or the other.
I understand the moral arguments and respect them. I also understand that most use the word as a sort of brand name for the rags, with little thought for any deeper insult and little malice towards the dead.

What is starting to piss me off big time is the other bit of the argument. The bit that means we cannot say it because the rag friendly media demands we don't. That same rag friendly media that, as though under instruction from the rags hierarchy or just that they are so far up the rags commercial arses, have somehow crawled over each other to create a dung heap disguised as a moral hugh ground to look down on us and express their manufactured digust.

From a position of being non committtal...I am starting to think i want to chain those fucking bent bastard hacks together, go nose to nose with them and scream....MUNICH, MUNICH, MUNICH...into their hypocritical faces. Not to disrespect anyone who died in thatair crash but just to alleviate some of my anger at them.
