Our Cup Final

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Our Cup Final

Postby walmai » Thu Apr 28, 2011 8:58 pm

Well, one of 4.

In fact, some feel we need a point to give us any hope at all. One or two teams around us with similarly bad form, but we're bottom looking up, aren't we, and its daft to even dream that this present mis-matched West Ham team can go on a run and win three games on the bounce afterwards.

The eternal optimist in me hopes that Chelsea do the business (christ that's hard to type in any circumstances) and beat Spurs, that Mancini and the lads have half a mind on Wembley and somehow, god knows how, we keep you out for 90 minutes, or at least score to keep it level.

Nice to hear that Carlitos won't be about, but, let's be honest, this is a mis-match that makes the game look like my team travelling to COMS as if it were lower league on a day out on 3rd round FA cup day.

We need Green, Parker, sod it, even Carlton Cole (who gets way to much stick from our lot anyway) to play their games of the season.

I know none of you can agree with me. One of the reasons I don't really post much any more on here is that its almost as if I've got me nose stuck up against a window of a different league, after the past two seasons of shite we've had down our way, both on and off the pitch.

Still, at least Sheff United are going down too, eh? Surely you can drop 2 points and still achieve the dreams of CL and FA Cup.

Don't you dare lose to Stoke at Wembley! Good luck to you all, except this Sunday.
(nice thread on us elsewhere - we even got a similar one on Bluemoan, or whatever you lot call it).

Walmai.

Walmai mate, I'm doing the preview on here for this match and, honestly, I thought of you when kicking it about earlier.

My inner City fan knows, just knows, that we will nause one of these coming games up. My heart would prefer that to be against West Ham to give you a fighting chance but my head says that the timing of this game (in tandem with Spurs against Chelsea) means we HAVE to win. Even a draw gives those dirty North London fucks heart and that's the last thing I want them to have when our game against them comes around.

So, sadly, I truly want us to put you to the sword on Sunday. Sorry mate, I like your club and you as a poster on here but I am desperate to see us take that next step and it has to be now if we're not to suffer a few more bloody years of transition.

Ant, in my heart of hearts, I know you're right. Recent defeats against Villa and Bolton put the lid on it really and we deserve to go down if we've got four games left and only 7 victories to our name.

Its sobering to think this, but I reckon its a fair chance I could be going to my last ever top flight match at The Boleyn Ground in about three weeks time...Steve Bruce and Sunderland sending us down is the stuff of nightmares!

not trying to be controversial here but i'd far rather have a northern team such as the wendies or notts florists in the top flight than the nasty little fuckers from west ham.

having said that, fulham, wigan and birmingham would be my ideal choice for relegation.

It's not all that controversial that you'd like Northern teams but for me, I'd just like to have decent big clubs with proper fans and crowds in the top division. That definitely includes West Ham (it does also include Forest and Sheff Wed).

It certainly does not include Bolton, Wigan, Fulham, Blackburn and....on the basis that they are unpleasant...Stoke.

I can understand why someone might not like West Ham but after 10-11 years in London I have to say that Hammers fans were consistently the fellas I liked. The odd Gooner maybe but Spurs and Chelsea were universal sized cunts and West Ham were 90% good lads to chat football with. They will always be ok with me

agree tp a certain extent. my "experience" comes from living in london and being told by fans of every club (apart from arsenal funnily enough) that i was a thick northern monkey.

but of course the people i met can hardly be representative of all football fans in london. however, the real nasty cunts invariably supported chelsea or west ham.

(i lived in north london so didn't meet any of them lovelies from bermondsey)

haha....fair enough mate, I lived in EC1/E1 in my time in London so pretty central....met a lot more West Ham and Arsenal than anything else. But met enough horrible cunts from Spurs and Chelsea to colour my views!

I HOPE our players give this match their 100% because if we win it and Arsenal loose to Utd we are 2 points behind with 1 match in hand.. and basicly can get third by our own making without having to hope for Arsenal to gift it to us.

That being said I do want Hammers to stay up, just sad we cannot afford to give it to you and hope we don't but will spend the remaining three games you got hoping those around you screw up bigtime.

GL on sunday to all you hammers boys, may the best team win:-)

I really hope West Ham stay up. I've always liked the club. Many family members of mine support them.
Good luck Walmai.

It wasn't that long ago, that we too were at that same window looking in Mate, so I think that most on here will recognise and understand your feelings.
For the record, as bad as it looks, I still think you'll escape the drop. As clueless and hopeless as you think you are, those around you are just the same. Losing to City won't be so bad, when you realise that your nearest rivals have all dropped points too.

Chin up mate...Keep believing.
I KNOW THAT YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU UNDERSTOOD WHAT YOU THINK I WROTE, BUT I AM NOT SURE YOU REALISE THAT WHAT YOU READ IS NOT WHAT I MEANT

I hope and think that we'll beat you on Sunday, walmai, but I hope that you stay up. West Ham are a proper club and one that I always like to see doing well.

I think 7 points from your last three is definitely doable and I reckon that will be enough for you. I see that yourselves, Wolves, Wigan and Blackpool are all neck and neck in terms of goal difference, it could easily come down to that so we'll let you off with a 1-0 on Sunday!

I think you have a very good chance of 3 points walmai

The confidence we currently have in beating the scum and scraping past Blackburn is plain daft.

We never do anything the easy way and a 3-0 thumping by the bottom team when idiots have already started celebrating our glorious season is a script we have lived through time and time again.

Hope you stay up Walmai I have got a lot of Hammers mates and they are all good lads, but we need this just as much as you to get clear of those north London tossers.

Hi Walmai,

Football can be a cruel game at various times and, at the end of the day, you can only be true to yourselves.

I hope to high heaven that West Ham stay up, but not at our expense on Sunday. In such instances it feels asthough you can't do right for doing wrong.

However, all the luck in the world to you guys and keep posting on here irrespective.

I reckon 38 points and a good goal difference will keep you up Walmai. What do you think?

I don't think those two things go together, mate.

38 points means 2 wins, 2 defeats. You only have to look at our defence to imagine that the defeats will be heavier than the victories.

Its mad to think that, when we last went down, we did so on 42 points.

Anyway, I think we'll lose twice - once at COMS, once likely at the Dave Wanker - and only win one of our home games, probably against Blackburn.

Props to you others for the well-wishing; the feeling's mutual for 4th place and Wembley.

I wish this was the last game of the season so we could get there already sure of fourth, hopefully with the FA Cup won too, and thus gift you the three points to help you on your way to stay up. Good luck and I hope WHU manage to stay in the Prem, there are other clubs which I'd rather see go down...but sadly we can't get too sentimental and help you at this point of the season. :(

Surely beating Blackburn and Wigan, which should be within reality would give you a massive chance of staying up?

I've not seen much of the hammers this year, but surely you can't be that bad that you dont give yourself a chance against those two
