Two home wins

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Two home wins

Postby Piccsnumberoneblue » Sat Apr 30, 2011 7:41 am

Well I did say that three home wins would be required for fourth, and anything away from home was a bonus. Well the three points at Blackburn made the task easier.
So two home wins should be enough, particularly if Spurs is one of them. That would leave us on 65, out of reach of Scouse, and with Spuds needing a maximum 12 from their other four fixtures because of goal difference. I thought they'd make a town halls of one of their 'gimme's' and they did, and it wouldn't surprise me if they dropped points v Blackpool or Brum, the need to win games seems to be getting to them.
As for third place? well I'd suspect that we would need to win all three home games and pick up something at Scouse2 and Bolton to have a chance. But being this close, with 4th all but in the bag, that should be the real target. I reckon Arse may well finish on around 71, so wins are required.

I know this is probably the wrong thread and a question that's been answered a thousand times, but what happened to the fixtures tab at the top?

Why does everyone so easily forget the run Spurs went on this time last season? They had an impossible run in, and went beating everyone in site, including us.

This is far from over, we need WAY MORE than 6 points.

Temporarily broken, but you can access it at the bottom. The full story's in 'Ask the Lads'.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could beat the Hammer's and Toffee's so we could send a reserve team out when we meet Spurs.

No beefers mate...it would damage our challenge for 3rd. A win for City against the Hammers and the rags beating Arsenal puts us 2pts adrift with a game in hand over the Gooners....GAME ON FOR 3RD....please no reserve teams.

Hell no.

I want a strong finish regardless. And I really want us to beat Spurs. Actually, after all the Harry Redknapp brown nosing in media it would be nice bonus if they finished behind Scousepool. In fact, it'd be hilarious.

Also, I can't see us getting anything from Goodison. We never do. It's like Moyes' cup final every year and he buzzes his lads exceeding themselves every single time. I don't know why he hates us so much but he does. I'd go as far as saying that's the game we are LEAST LIKELY to win from now until the end of the season.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Have to agree, no idea why he hates us, but gets his players pumped up against us!

IF however we manage a win against them it will set us up nicely for the game against the yids, IF we achieve this I can see last game of the season with us still in contention for 3rd? Away to Bolton, another of our bogey teams! If this all pans out to be what an end to the season that would be! Last day of the season and still something up grabs i.e. third, beats the indifference of last season when we already new our fate already.

I did say 'wouldn't it be nice..', and who says our reserve team can't beat Spurs? That'd be nice as well ;-)
