Lescott for me, never poot a foot wrong all day and made that crucial block on the shot which was destined for the bottom corner.

Just before they scored he lost Keane for that one on one with Joe and then he wasn't blameless for the goal. Not easy with the little header just in front of him but he did handle the ball.Apart from that though he was very solid again.

Jolean for me, certainly a revelation since he's had a run of consecutive games.

Zabs, forget his goal and chasing down green in the last minute, he was a defensive rock and did everything you could possibly ask of a fullback. If we could get Kolarov to just copy him, we'd be a much better unit.

I think he played well, but his direct opponents were the antique Boa Morte and Ba (who had a hit and miss game, despite the goal) and Gabbidon. 2/3 of those players are reserves and I thought that Zabaleta just played a professional game.

I voted for Toure by dint of our not having a player like that, or a player who could adequately contain him. A close second was Silva, who could have ripped us to bits if you'd maintained momentum in the first half.

If I have a look at the others, Hart, Kolarov, Kompany, De Jong, and Johnson had reasonable games, although on occasion there were some sloppy passes.

I wasn't overly impressed by Barry or Lescott (who deliberately handled of course ) and thought that neither Balotelli nor Dzeko made obvious inroads on their price-tags. Academy boy Tomkins mainly dealt with Balotelli and once that old tart Upson had subbed himself, Da Costa put himself about a bit.

For me, our MotM was Sears - a boy amongst men, but a never-say-die spirit that probably rubbed off Bellamy in his brief time amongst us mortals. That instance of his going toe to toe with Yaya was great. Ran all match against a disciplined and effective unit of a side.

Now that's what I think is a decent assessment of the game without the home bias. My exception would be Barry who I thought,at least in the first half was excellent. He must be a team mates dream as he is always available when they get in any trouble, sees problems early and usually cuts them out and is great for any team needing to switch the play around. Not fancy but that's not his role but a top team player.

Hi Walmai,

From the way that your lads played yesterday, how would you assess your team's chances of getting enough points, from your last three games, to be able to avoid the drop ??

It's not really fair to say Zabs played well because of crap opposition, he's continuing a solid consistent run of form since coming back from his dad's bedside and was quite clearly the best performer in our side yesterday.

De Jong for me just for his pure joy when he scored but Lescott (never thought I'd say it) wasexcellent
It may be my last year as a season ticket holder as it just doesn't seem the same with so few English and local players (but I said that last year)

We're down unless we record back to back victories over Blackburn (h) and Wigan (a).

Not impossible, but, from the preceding 35 games, fairly unlikely.

We played reasonably well once the game was lost. The first 15 minutes demonstrate why we are bottom.

I spoke as I found him yesterday. I didn't know about the other stuff, tbh.

It is instructive that a lot of you have chosen a full back for MotM, against a team that has lacked width all season long and who conjured up minimal goal threat.

how can anyone pick anyone other than silva? the west ham defence (and midfield) had a nightmare tracking him today, i know he should have shot on that one on one, but that was the only thing he did wrong. he gets better by the game, and he's by far our most intelligent player. yesterday, possibly his best performance in a city shirt iom. i love zabba too and he played well yesterday, but he just didn't compare to the little spaniard!
