My theory is that if the players wear it and we win they´ll be reproduced en masse as a souvenir issue

Maybe the numbers will carry the COA in future seasons? Worth noting that the COA was not worn for City's first FAC final (1904) nor the 1970 ECWC final. I've never managed to find out categorically why 1970 didn't include the Manchester COA but it appears that it was because of time between semi-final and final (no badge of any description was worn on City's shirts in either 1904 or 1970).

Just a thought, but would the club be allowed to profit from a shirt bearing the city's crest? If not, then that may be the reason for the shirts with the club badge. Even so, there's still the distant possibility the team will walk out at Wembley wearing the Manchester coat of arms.
