Its funny when you watch games from 5-10-20 years ago, players have this miraculous ability to stay on their feet even when being touched by someone else. Players didn't used to throw up their hands every time they fall. Players didn't used to roll around like they've been stabbed.

Maybe this whole generation has just gotten weak from not drinking enough milk. I thought it was known that if you dally on the ball, you can expect to see someone trying to tackle you. I'm still in disbelief that other people cannot see the huge change the attitude (pride) of players.

I get what you are saying about the past, but this is the game nowadays. Think how good the best players in the last 40 odd years would have been without the famous hatchet men from the old first division.

Think how good the best hatchet men could be today if it wasn't for the famous rollers and divers holding them back

I wanted to punch my TV at the end when Diarra tackled him and got the ball but the soft cunt rolled around for 10 mintues. I wouldnt wish a broken leg on anyone but that cheeting cunt......and Rooney.

He was, yes. But its not fair to label the whole team like that. Messi always tries to stay on his feet, as does xavi, but they take some hits!

Absolute fucking myth

Exactly. Marcello get all ball in the corner, and messi rolls around provoking the fans so the ref gets a yellow. As soon as the yellow appears, messi stands up and walks away. Everyone takes hits

I wonder what kind of challenge did you see. Marcelo's tackle was reckless and he definitely hit Messi; he might have got part of the ball too, but it was definitely a yellow. They showed it more than one time from various angles and he caught Messi quite clearly. He didn't even make a fuss about it as he knew perfectly well that it was a fair yellow.

I think the Portuguese are. Remember Holland vs Portugal? They were going down like they'd been shot by a sniper. Even the goalkeeper, who got hit in the chest if at all, covered his face and rolled around the floor. The Spanish are pretty poor too. I was watching with disgust at the final with the amount of imaginary cards Xavi was waving.

As for Messi being tackled in the corner. He was blatantly clattered. Marcello knew it was yellow. Messi, however, generally does stay on his feet. Maybe he goes down the odd tackle, but overal, he holds his cool pretty well. On top of that, you hardly ever see him make a big fuss after being tackled. He goes down, sits up, looks at the ref to see whether he got a free kick, or not, which 9/10 he does, if not, he just gets up.

Pedro, however.... what a bitch. Mascherano was also pretty poor. However, I think he got tripped up when, whomever it was that fell on the back of his feet. It looked accidental, though the goal should have stood.

In the end, I think this game was a whole lot better. No imaginary cards, or at least, very little, a lot less play acting, good football from both teams. I can say I thought this match was a lot better.
