City and penalties

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

City and penalties

I always felt like we were hard done by when it came to awarding penalties over the course of the season. Only a couple of seasons ago I think we got our first penalty with 3 games to go or something?

Anyway, I just saw on SSN that we have been awarded more penalties than ANY OTHER TEAM this season?!! 9 awarded in total.

Well, what does this ultimately tell us? That we have more skillful players, capable of tricking defenders into fouls in the box or that "big" teams get the decisions? Or both?

It tells us that Adam Johnson is hard to track. Most of those will be for fouls on him.
Attack the argument of the person, not the person of the argument- except Carl.

When we're on form the only way to stop us is to kick us - even Arsenal do it to us.

the teams at the top have the more skillful players, able to draw a challenge and move the ball before it arrives. The top teams also spend more time in the oppo's penalty area.
Then there's the 'big club' pressure on the ref. How many times do motd laugh off a penalty appeal for a lower club, before spending 10 minutes analysing a dubious one for a 'big' team? Impressed we've won the most though. Another 3 on saturday would be nice
