We've proved we can win without him, but when he came on tonight his keep-ball play was immense, and he was always there for an early return pass, generally in a position which advanced our position on the field. I thought he looked a cut above anyone on the pitch, and I was almost surprised by how good he was, and remembered how much he offers. We will progress without him, and I'm resigned to his leaving, but we would progress so much better with him.

I can see why Italy would be a more desirable place to live for someone from Argentina, which is an annoying stumbling block for us. Culturally it must be more similar. Wish he'd stop being so selfish, think of how his children could grow up as multiply gifted bi-lingual City fans with the word at their priveliged door step, and hang about a few seasons whilst we set Europe on fire and become the best team in the land (in all the world).

In the 'real' world, plenty of people want to move jobs so they can make more money. If people want to move jobs in the real world, it also doesn't mean that they don't care about doing a good job in their current role before they move on. Furthermore, plenty of people like to move abroad and work in different countries for a few years, before moving back home. I don't see why footballers are expected to be any different. They don't have the emotional attachment to clubs that the fans do and so to them it's just a job. The Matt Le Tissier's of this world are few and far between.

While I agree that Tevez looked good when he came on yesterday, let's not forget that he went something like 3 months w/o a PL goal from open play. And, he's gotten tons of rest, so it's unsurprising he looked lively for a quick cameo. He does not look 100% match fit to me.

He looked absolutely nowhere near fit to me & I find talk of him playing on Saturday, astonishing. He still looked better than Dzeko in every possible aspect of the game, more brains, skill, heart, threat, effort & was even better when under a high ball. Whether he leaves or stays, & whether Dzeko & Balotelli improve or not, he is better than the pair of them put together & it's bloody obvious they can't replace what Tevez brings. If he goes, we have to find someone to bring those qualities back or we will be a weaker side.

Dzeko brings new elements into the game, ones we need. Tevez will always go through the middle, with Dzeko, players can go wide.

As for Tevez leaving? I hope not. He's a wonderful player. Even if he wants to leave, he still commits to his function on the pitch. He runs around, chasing players, scoring goals and whatnot. So what, he had a bad spell before his injury. Happens to most players. Fact is, he is now one of the best strikers in the world and he plays for us. Even if he wants to leave, he still is willing to run his socks off when he could simply be moping around. Tevez is a great player.

I found it funny though, him warming up, big smile on his face. Walks to the bench, still smiling talking to Given and then gets told off by Mancini for having stopped warming up, Tevez annoyed, gets told to put his bib on, 5 mins later, he's allowed on and there's that big smile again. I found myself chuckling.

If Dzeko won a header the chances are it's one Tevez would have won. He barely got his head on anything above shoulder height.

Own goal aside, I thought Dzeko looked pretty poor compared to Crouch last night & Crouch isn't exactly Alan Shearer. It was like comparing a man to a boy & a wussy mummy's boy at that. He has to work much harder & show much more desire if he's to make it in the Premier League. Imo he almost cost us the game last night.

I thought it was as much down to a lack of bottle. Crouch moved before the ball was kicked, asking for it & anticipating it & if it wasn't where he wanted, he was already on the move to barge into defenders & stop them clearing the ball, keeping us under pressure. Dzeko moved after it was kicked, reacting to it late & letting the defenders have an easy time, allowing Spurs to build from the back. When he tried a bit harder, he disrupted them but he wasn't trying to half the time. Very very poor performance imo.
