Training Wednesday 11/5

I don't normally go the day after a game but made an exception today to pass on congratulations. Got the chance with a few and a quick shake of the hand of Kiddo. He was well chuffed of course but clearly made up for the fans and hoping now that it's the first thing of many many achievments for us to celebrate.

All the subs from last night were involved today plus a bunch of EDS players in what turned out to be an interesting session.Normal warm up stuff before a decent pass/move pressing/closing down exercise and then Mancini took 10 players away behind fencing to work on some attacking plays. Closely working on certain things as well.

Then back out for a 10 a side game which was quite an intense game.Great to see two early goals scored from crosses with the finishers showing Modric how it should be done :) Poole crossing for SWP and an excellent sidefoot volley and I think Wabara for Roman at the other end. Then a few goals from headers. Mario bagging 2 and a cracking near post header from Guidetti one for the other team.Tough game for Guidetti as he was getting a bit of a battering from the defenders against him.

Mario's were both good well placed headers. One from a Kolarov cross and the other from Tevez to the back post. In between he also scored from a 1 on 1 tucking it under the keeper. Then from what was probably the easiest chance he slipped on shooting and fired over the top. As the game finished SWP had just been flattened and was in some pain in the middle. He was fine thankfully.

Kolo came over and gave someone an autograph. I asked if he could say anything and got the obvious answer.Good of him to come over anyway but nobody else did.The guy with the autograph then asked me, who was that?

Cheers Doug. I trust the players are all aware of how important this game on Saturday is to us all.

Feel sorry for Kolo but he may still have a part to play down the line if/when his ban ends.

I echo that.

Kolo has handled himself really well during what must be a hard time. They'll always be a place in the club for a pro like him.

Cheers Doug. Great read as usual, and was Tevez fully involved?

Mancini said he will be fine for the final, whereas Tevez is not fit. Sort of suggests he was resting Gaz this week with the final in mind, preferring Milner to get stuck in to Spurs. Not sure if that's scary or not, but Wembley is his sort of pitch.
