So many positives from today and some excellent performances but I went for Lescott.

He showed this afternoon what he's been showing for an increasing number of games now :- that he's a very good, steady defender.

Have to agree with him but today I thought was his best performance. But I still have to give MoTM to Nigel he was AWESOME.

I'd have to watch it again, without the nerves or frantic jumping around, but based on my memory of it- de Jong was colossal and made Whelan and Delap look like, actually he didn't make them look like anything, because you'd barely have noticed they were there at all. Kompany was solid as per, and made a couple of impressive darts forward, Richards and Kollyflower were both solid and continually offered a threat wide, although Kolarov was a bit wasteful when he got into dangerous positions. Lescott was towering, monstrous, beastly, like summat out of a superhero film, with Kenwynne Jones supposed to be the evil humanity slayer but ending up looking like an apathetic menopausal DIY jewelery wearing social worker from Alderley Edge. Barry kept it simple and effective and anticipated threats before they became threats. That makes no sense.

Touré scored, nothing the fuck else matters. Mario was disciplined, hardworking, and showed some wonderful skill and tenacity on occasion. Tevez held the ball up better than his 6ft95 teammate on the bench has done at any point, managed to wriggle his way out of countless tight corners and was selfless in his efforts. Silva was absolutely sublime mixed with a little bit sloppy, mostly sublime though.

So, after all that waffling, I'd say. Give it Elano.

Wow. That sums it up for me. What an amazing summary. CTK you have it.

De Jong, yet again, but the whole team are now legends. Mario also showed great maturity today in the face of quite a lot of provocation
