I presume this will be the first ever Manchester derby Community Shield?

Adds a bit of spice.

Second. Rags beat us 1956.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Same here. A glamorous showpiece to start the season with. Welcome to the new City! I suppose we'd better get used to these occasions :)

In all seriousness.... fancy a day out in London in august? I already got permission from missus for this.

haha - definitely mate, if we can nail the tickets we're there.

i know this may seem silly to some - but i could have had tickets for the last 2 wembley appearances but chose not to as it was too important.... i was sick twice today just watching it on telly (on my own with the door locked, phone off and curtains drawn....

i can do a charity shield though :)

p.s. I'll let Spiv pimp me out in Piccadilly Circus for a ticket, no problem.

You're far too old, there's not alot of call for mutton these days it's only lamb that gets the top dollar :)
Seriously we'll all have to keep our wits about us if anybody is drinking anywhere between Baker street and Wembley park.

How does the carity shield work though. Don't they give most of the tickets to charity? or do they sell the tickets and give the money to charity?

Here's the funny bit, if I understood it correctly at the time, when they changed the name from Charity Shield to Community Shield, they also changed how the whole thing works. While they used to give all the money to charity, now they make a "donation" to charities ie keep majority of money themselves.

I was told that it would not be at Wembley due to olympics but no alternative venue confirmed, yet on the FA Site seems to be confirmed for Wembley on the 7th. Tickets are usualy very cheap, £40 dearest seat last year with far less corporate so should be reasonably easy to get a ticket

It's the one a year later that is affected by the Olympics.
