yeah that 4th qualifying round looks potentially deadly to ANY team in it. Whole new ball of wax this CL thingy....i'm bricking the qualifying rounds. Hats off to fucking Spurs for having a go at this and making it as far as they did.

someone said it earlier yesterday, but we need to play these last two matches like we could be playing Bayern Munchen or Lyon instead and take that as our goddam motivation to get at Stoke and Bolton to get 3rd. Hope the hangover of the FA Cup win won't fuck this chance up...because we need to grab the reins and take this down. Complacency has no place in our mindset for these last 2 matches. Hope the lads feel the same way.

I don't think points are awarded for domestic cup performances.

We would NOT be playing Bayern or any other European Giant in the qualification round. Teams are seeded according to UEFA coefficient and we, just like all the big clubs, are guaranteed to be seeded. We'll play one of the minnows still left in the competition.

If you ask me, that's fucking dodgy because they try to squeeze all the golden cows in the actual competition but will work for us if we can't guarantee.

That table has NOT been updated to include this season (obviously because this years competitions are still going). Having made it (relatively) far in Europa League and winning domestic cup we will be much MUCH higher come next season's draw.

This seasons results don't count for next season's competitions. It's done on a rolling five-year (weighted?) aggregate. So for 2011-12, the seasons taken into consideration are:

2009-10
2008-9
2007-8
2006-7
2005-6

Domestic results don't count at all, so if, hypothetically, Barnet were the FA Cup runners up, and Stoke won the league cup, both would enter with the exact same coefficient.

However, UEFA qualifying rounds do count, so, theoretically, a team who starts at the first qualifying round has the chance to attain a higher coefficient than one which qualifies automatically for the group stages.

It is borderline as to whether we will be seeded or not, and we won't know for sure until the first non-champions' round has been played out.

The UEFA country ranking is computed by the sum of 5 coefficients in the last 5 years. To determine the participants in the Champions League and the UEFA Cup the last year ranking is used, because each country should know at the start of the season how many places it disposes.

The UEFA team ranking is computed by the sum of 5 coefficients in the last 5 years. The most recent team ranking is used for seeding of clubs for draws in the Champions League and the UEFA Cup.

I am not that worried really.
I am sure we will beat whoever is placed in front of us.
If it's Bayern or Villareal or someone of that quality well so be it.
If we don't get through we can concentrate on the prem and means we are not ready.
The fact we are in it now will attract the players over the summer anyway
