They'd be "proper cool" if I were seven.

I saw this too, last night on the Sky sports highlights program and thought the same as you. He does it again in that you tube clip, but in both times the interviewer asked the question about six times. Mancio was probably getting pissed off.

Before we get too excited by Mancini's comments regarding Tevez staying, just found this in the guardian:

Carlos Tevez remains determined to explore the possibilities of a summer move to Spain or Italy despite Roberto Mancini's declaration that the Argentinian had informed Manchester City he had changed his mind and now wanted to remain at Eastlands.

Tevez has been described as surprised and taken aback by Mancini's comments after the 3-0 defeat of Stoke City on Tuesday, when the striker reiterated his importance to the team with two outstanding goals.

Mancini said he had spoken to Tevez on several occasions before and after the FA Cup final and that "he has said he wants to stay". The Italian repeated this several times, in complete contradiction to the account from the player's side that his stance has not changed.

City's captain has told associates he is disappointed by the remarks, believing it to be some clever and political positioning on the part of his manager.

Tevez has a meeting with his adviser, Kia Joorabchian, next week to discuss his options, his favoured one being a move to Real Madrid or Internazionale. Whether that is feasible is not certain, with City valuing him in the region of £50m, plus a weekly salary of about £250,000 to be taken into consideration. However, the Tevez camp will look into whether it can be arranged, in part because of the player's desire to make it easier to see his two young daughters, Florencia and Katia.

They live in Buenos Aires with his former partner Vanessa, and the thinking is that if Tevez moved to mainland Europe they might be persuaded to move with him.

Tevez is frustrated that his family issues are often overlooked, pointing out that it would also be easier, in terms of direct flights, for him to travel to and from Argentina if he lived in, say, Madrid. Vanessa speaks only Spanish and did not embrace life in Manchester.

At the same time Tevez is also aware that City will be playing in the Champions League next season and may be in a position to make an authentic title challenge. He knows, too, that he is the best-paid player in English football, so there are considerations in favour of staying in Manchester. Overall, however, it is almost certain he will press ahead with his plans to investigate whether a move can be arranged.

About the only certainty for now is that Tevez would leave an enormous void if he were to depart this summer. His two goals against Stoke have moved him alongside Dimitar Berbatov of Manchester United as the Premier League's top scorer, both having found the net 20 times. Tevez has 52 goals in 85 appearances for the club.

"Everyone knows what kind of player Carlos is and how important he is for the squad," the midfielder Nigel de Jong said. "It's not only his goalscoring, it's his work rate.

"He's compact and small but he wins every battle with every defender. Where else do you see that? Where else can you find a striker similar to him?

"The answer is there are very few, maybe a couple of others in the world. He is one of the greats at the moment so it's important for the club that he stays. Everybody hopes that he will, but it's not a case of him wanting to go somewhere else. It's a family thing.

"If the gaffer has said that he's staying, it's a pleasure to hear. But we'll just have to hope and see what happens next season."

There's a similar story in the hate mail. Hope it's just the usual media speculation bollox as there are no direct quotes but this story won't lie until Tevez makes a statement regarding his future

Tevez won't make a statement because I don't think he is sure himself.

Some quotes via Ogden of the Telegraph

"To tell you the truth, I don't know what I'll do. I want to play for City on Sunday then see my daughters and play with them"

"They're saying I'm going to Madrid, Italy and other places but the truth is...I don't even know"

Plus you have to factor Kia in somewhere.

Quotes are from a radio interview via phone with an Argentine station

For what it is worth I do think Mancini is forcing the Tevez issue as he wants a clear cut decision one way or the other and he wants it quick.

More quotes

"I'm fine here with Man City, but it's tough to live with being away from my daughters. That is something that does your head in"

"I have a good relationship with the Gallagher brothers. They came to my vip box to watch a game and I went to one of their shows"

"I understand English. I have no problems there. But I understand MANCINI better when he speaks in Italian"

Also said he sucks at English and can't be arsed to learn it properly

Rest is just chatting about the national team

"If Diego calls me and tells me he's waiting for me in Dubai, I'd tell him to keep waiting! (laughs). There's no way I'll play there"

Hats off to Mancini by fictionalizing this story a bit to try and draw it to a close quickly. It's the best thing our manager could do. I'm starting to like how this cunt operates. He knows Tevez is in a pickle and has no fuclin clue what to do, and he wants him to step up and be a man and make a decision ffs. Good strategy i think, even if it forces Tevez to leave. Tevez leaving late when we can't find replacements, as if you could replace him even, could set Mancini back an entire year tbh.

cheers

Agree Mancini has played this quite well.

Much as we love Carlos, we need either a yes or no from him now so we dont waste all summer waiting to see if he will shit or get off the pot. If you want to go Carlos, then fine thanks for the memories and off you go but on our terms, but please dont think you can spend all summer stringing us along.

Im pretty sure Mancini knows he's a goner but after the FA Cup win and top 4, old Roberto is playing with a much stronger hand in the press and with the fans.

i think you're right - it ties in with Mancini wanting his transfers sorted sooner rather than later (if the worst happened)

"I want to leave Manchester City," Tevez, told Argentine station Radio del Plata.

"Football has changed a lot for me and I don't know if I will even make it to the next World Cup. And that has nothing to do with whether I'm selected or not.

"I've been treated very well here and I'm grateful.

"I also gave my everything for the club to receive the results it has had. But I need a change of scene."

On where he might end up, Tevez added: "To go back to Boca Juniors would be beautiful but it is very difficult.

"But if we're speaking seriously, financial issues would make my return difficult."

He's wanted to leave since the start of the season and was deseparate to go in the January window. I don't think anything has changed but the FA Cup win made him a little less sure.

Next season will be challenging without him as the team is built around his workrate up top on his own. Looking forward to see how we rebuild - hopefully with pace and width.

I'm not too sure but that sounds like an interview that was quoted last year, and if I'm correct, refuted not long after.

I think this is settled. He is not going to stay. I still don't get how moving to Italy would help him being closer to his kids though. Also, it's fairly remarkable that he has been in England for over five years and still doesn't speak much English at all. Must be thick as pig shit really.
