Hiya,

Bob Young from Jersey here...

Was in Bowler hat on Saturday with brothers.

Some truths here.

I probably did help start the ISC.
Probably did start up the best man city site on the net 15 years ago.

Also thanks to Jon and his mates for carrying on the great work Scall and Jon Garry started

When it come down to money, Ive always been crap at it.
I think at that time Jon and his mates wanted a share in the mancity.net name.

I cant ever remember discussing money!
I preferred to keep it in my own name.

Anyway, Im sure Dan and Jon have gone from strength to strength and little old mancity.net is used for 50 @mancity.net emails only now.

Looking back I should have let the team working on the site have it.
They still can if they want it...no charge!!

Great seeing two fantastic wins at Wembley.
Great to just be a Manchester City fan.

Un abrazo
Bob

Fair play mate.
And you can be proud that you DID kick start best City site in the land and all the world.

We got tons of posters who have come since but I missed mancity.net address.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Im happy for the lads on this site to have the mancity.net domain name if they want it.

I suppose all I ask is that the people that have a @mancity.net email address keep them, including myself bob@mancity.net

I give a lot free for one reason or another but about 20 of us pay the annual subscription to everyone.net. normally £15 for the email and support.

Them old days of the mid 90's were great, Blue View, 4 Tribal Gathering weekends, Sky and Manchester City asking me what do Manchester City fans want from the internet. Heady days indeed. Great interviews for mancity.net. Peter Brophy wrote great articles for us. I think we made Manchester City aware before most clubs what the internet could do for them as well as showing the Club what support they had around the world. After Scall and Jon Garry, Jon and his team did a great job.

Made loads of friends in those days and lost a few, which I regret. But kept a lot and have made a lot more since we started the Jersey branch of the of OSC. Great to see Wookie at Wembley.

Heady days of having lunches/directors box with Frannie Lee, Ballys office before and after games and Kit Symons phoning me up asking me into the Players lounge and lots more. Almost felt my next step was putting the number 8 shirt on!

But after all that "glamour" ask me what I enjoyed most about being a City fan and I'll tell you being with Les Saul and Dave Kiernan in the Kippax drinking our chicken noodle at half time. Loved them 60's days most of all. Never experienced a feeling since like them 60's night matches...

Anyway, nice to have a great team again and to see Manchester City fans happy...which is what its all about really....

Saludos,
Bob

I loved Stop Making Sense: Manchester City, Mother Russia and Me. One of the better football supporting books I ever read, and I've read few.

Hi Bob, hope you are well. I interviewed Colin Bell for for the ISC site years ago, thems were the days when their were only a handful of enthusiast City websites, branch ones (like mine for the BAe branch), MCIVTA, sikpupi, wookie, ISC etc

MCIVTA was top top quality back in the day. Then they went on crusade against Thaksin which was embarrasing.

Dead against foreing ownership. Ironic considering whole MCIVTA was always aimed for foreign Blues and Blues in exile. Also they were heavily backing Ray Ranson's bid for the Club. Jeezes, thank god he didn't get his filthy hands on the Club.
