To be fair though Ruxpin that's an unfair comparison...Sanchez is a winger and i'm sure if he could deliver service into the box both Balo and Dzekos goal ratio would rise significantly next season

That is in reply to people who are suggesting him as a replacement for Tevez. He has played quite a bit more centrally recently & his scoring rate has increased but he's playing in a league where Rolando Bianchi got 20 goals. He's a raw talent & I hope we sign him but I see him as someone, like Balotelli & AJ/Silva who moves around the front 3 playing WITH Tevez & perhaps standing in for him when he's injured or rested, not as a replacement. If Tevez goes, we must sign a striker imo.

The more I think about this radio interview though, the more it looks like a stitch up. Why isn't the radio station making more of his alleged comments ?

The interview is bullshit, I'm pretty confident of that. I'd say the release of the interview is the doing of that Kia cunt to counter Mancini's claims that he's staying, when both parties are entering into possible negotiations over a new deal. Whatever his deal was when he joined, he has now become the most lethal striker in world football and IF he stays, there will be a new deal to trash out.

I really don't know if he'll stay and of course I hope he does, but as NQDP said, replacing him with a player of equal standing (if at all possible) takes a lot of time to get done, so we need to know in the next week or so.

Fingers and toes will be crossed, but I got the feeling from Khaldoon's interview that he feels very strongly about MAINTAINING what we all ready have. He stressed this a number of times and I think its a reference to the Tevez situation.

Two or three quality additions to the core squad and we could well win the league. Tevez leaving means a lot more than just trying to find a like for like replacement.

Look, one way or the other we'll recover, but prevention will always be better than cure.

We are talking about the same guy that gave an interview to the OS stating how happy he was, then two days later put in a transfer request... :-)

Now I don't believe this is a fresh interview either, but thinking Tevez does not think of himself and Kia in every decision is IMO wrong.

Gaffer's just been on SSN saying that he didn't want to ask any more questions about Tevez as it's getting tiresome. When pushed he repeated his previous statement that he still thinks Carlos will stay.

He also sarcastically said that we were getting Tranny for 200 mil, and the knobhead reporter still asked him if he was joking.

They're saying on SSN that Tevez denies saying those words and that he was misinterpreted and will discuss his future with his family after the Bolton game.

Sounds about right. One way or the other a decision will be made and I won't consider him "judas" and whatever other shite I've heard recently IF he does go. It'll be a case of wishing it weren't so and trying to get over losing (and trying to replace) the most lethal striker in world football at the minute.

Tevez is one of those players who will never be a hero to me. He is JUST a player, albeit a very good one. I'm not sure if the story is true or not but frankly couldn't care, he will stay or he will go but he gets neither love nor hate from me.

he's a total hero for me. he's an amazing player and works so hard for the fans and the club. One of the best players in world football, blossoming into that role while taking our squad to the highest level it's been in decades and decades as our captain and yet you still find a way to say the Captain isn't heroic?

come on now...i love Tevez. Love him. Hated the transfer request, but he's just amazing in every other aspect. And he does NOT look unhappy playing with the lads either.

cheers

I can relate to that, Tevez is your typical mercenary so can't love him, however put him in a City shirt and watch him bang in the goals and it's very hard to hate the little runt.

Hope he stays, but one way or another I hope it's finalised as quick as possible, can do without all this shit all summer long.

it is pissing me off more continually reading hysterical fans than anything Tevez has actually done. The transfer request was fairly stupid, but him talking about being unsettled because of his family i dont have a problem with. Why oh why people get so upset by an article in joke newspaper that is designed to try and wind people up or spread dissent is just beyond me.
Also why it isn't possible to believe him about wanting to be with his family i don't know either. He may be on mega bucks but he is a human being and can choose within his contracted options to do what he wants. Take the scant bit of evidence to make an assessment if you are so worried about it and not the hype and hearsay and bullshit of the media.

i see nothing more than there has been since December to suggest he will leave, i didn't think it was inevitable he would leave during the transfer request saga and i still think it is not inevitable, more likely he will stay.

And i still think that the team needs to learn to play as good without him as with him.

so there.

I tried to hate him at Christmas when he requested a transfer & told myself it would never be the same even when he came back & played, but try as I might, when I saw him running his little legs off in the last few minutes v Spurs, even though he was nowhere near match fit, then the cup final, then the 2 goals v Stoke; he's just one of the best players we've ever had & even if he goes, almost all of the memories he's left us are good ones. It's just daft not to aknowledge him as one of our greats.

I really hope he doesn't go though, he's at the right club. He was never this good before he came to City; the mixture of City & Tevez works, he's better with us & we're better with him. Also you only have to look at his face at Wembley, he's never looked happier anywhere. If he goes, it will be wrong.

We can't allow it to. He has to make a choice very quickly. If he decides to go, then we either do a deal very quick or if nobody will pay the required amount, we tell him there's no more negotiating, he's here for at least another season, close the door on any possible deals & that's that.

So glad to hear someone mirror my own feelings. Tevez is great, he has scored a buttload of goals for us and noone could have done what he has done for us these past two seasons. BUT.... he will never be as loved as Kompany, De Jong or even Silva. Atleast not for me, simply because of his attitude.

Fans love great players that show a commitment. Tevez has shown equal amounts of commitment as he has shown signs of departure. He has always been one step away from leaving.

He came from utd with not the best record to City and have become one of the best strikers in the world. Have we not been one of the hottest clubs in the world atm due to our backers and now having CL I would understand if he wanted to further his career by leaving for a "big club". But we have finally arrived on the big scene so why leave? Other than because your heart is not really in the club.

And as someone else have said, that is fine, not everyone can be 100% commited. But that is why you'll never be as loved as Zaba, Kompany and De Jong are. And I am sure you are fine with that Tevez:-)

If you leave, thank you for all that you have given us. If you stay, thank you for continuing to be a part of this family:-)

Don't get me wrong, I love having Tevez playing for us, I love his effort and skill on the park but I find it difficult to love someone who seems to view City as just another company he works for. I don't hate him handing in a transfer request or talking about wanting to be nearer his family as I can understand those things.
One thing I do hate about the modern player though is when they sign a five year contract but only want to stay for two years. They want the big wages that a long contract gets them but want to renegotiate the terms after half the contract length.

I think that we all know the truth at this moment in time, Carlos has still to make a decision and is not running off to the media to undermine what we are trying to do. On the other hand I'd say that his friend and mentor is another story and would do anything to destabilise him and get him to move on. Now, with Mancini's comments and the way the club are dealing with this it is plain to see that we aren't putting pressure on Carlos, instead leaving him to make and informed decision based on his own personal circumstances.

Personally, I think he's already made his mind up and just needs excess reasoning to stay whilst ensuring his family understand why he is doing it.

Regardless of how this turns out, i'm still personally impressed by how Mancini is dealing with this. I like his bloody-mindedness. He really doesn't take much bullshit. Just gets on with it and calls it how he sees it and just laughs at the press sarcastically. Gotta applaud him for defiance.

I get the impression he's building an 'everyone is against us' mentality in the dressing room, and that everyone is waiting to see us fall. And if Carlos does go i think he'll just use that to spur on the players even more to prove everyone wrong. I think we're in good hands tbh...
