Scoring goals was a bit of a problem in some game and we had no pace and player who creates and scores made off his own back;

Gareth Bale but not as left back

Oh and Tranny cos we can afford it.

Have you seen much of Chiellini lately? Serious question.

I see his name trotted out every window and I can't help but think that those putting his name forward don't watch Italian football.

You are right. From what I've seen of him, he has been largely disappointing for past two seasons. He has also been dropped from Italian national team. I think we can forget that one.

Having said that, before his poor couple of years he was the most promising centerback talent in Europe. Don't know what happened there.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

He had Gigi behind him telling him the Juve defense were the best in the world. Why bother trying when you're already world class?

I wouldn't touch our back line this summer - am generally content with what we have. If Mancio asks around for a winger and/or someone to help Silva, I'd be happy.

Every big club in Europe will be after the Lukaku brothers.

If we're signing another CB, it should be one with pace imo, for use against teams with fast, tricky forwards. That's the thing Vinny & Lescott lack. We need to be very careful with this though.

He should only be brought into the team against lesser sides at home rather than thrown in at the deep end v Arsenal or for a battering v Stoke etc. Bob may want a ball player there as alternative to Lescott & I can understand that but as we've seen with Boateng & Boyata, making random changes to the CB pairing is a dangerous gamble. Bob cost us quite a few games doing that imo & Lescott has shown recently that he stands up to the kind of bombardment dished out by some PL teams much better than Boateng did. A new player from abroad is likely to get mugged by the set piece/aerial teams just like Boateng was, not to mention turned inside out by the football sides.

If Bob chucks an untried foreign player in at CB in tough situations, it will cost us games, just like Luiz at Chelsea & everyone at Arsenal.

I had an argument with an arsenal fan during the arse v spuds game that went something like this

me "spuds defence is a joke but yours is just as bad to be fair"
Muppet "your defence is shit you just have 9 defender's on the pitch"
me "not really"
Muppet "your only decent defender is kompany"
me "so our only decent defender is the best defender in the league, yeah our defence is shit"
muppet " *laughing* vermaelen is better then kompany when he's fit"
me " *laughing alot fucking harder* fuck off you spastic"

and thats the story of why i think we shouldnt sign vermaelan. Quite petty i know but i dont want to give any sort of credit to the mong in the story when kompany makes vermaelan look like better then he is and i dont like signing players that have less then perfect medical histories

17 million quid for Roque Santa Bruise would tend to agree with you. And so do I.

Vermaelen has played about ten games for Arsenal and yet everyone thinks the sun shines out his arse. I don't know why. I've seen him a few times and he's not that great. Playing for Belgium against Japan, he made Shinji Okazaki look like Johann Cruyff.
Your right leg I like; I've got nothing against your right leg. The trouble is neither have you.

No reason for us to change the best defense in the premier league this season (based on stats atleast). If we are to sign a new defender I would like it to be exactly what Mancini is looking for. Someone unproven who can come in and compete with Lescott for his spot as the left central defender.

I think Kolarov will be alot better next season (most players need one season to settle in as we know) and Boateing will be back from injury and competing for every spot in the back four.

as long as we get rid of

Adebayor
Jo
Bridge
Santa Cruz
Nedum Onuoha
M.Johnson
SWP.

Then I would go for

Sanchez
Fabregas
Coentrao
Lukaku
Modric
Young.

If we got these I would let go Barry(sacrafice a defensive mid for a attacking one) and although I wish we had bellers this season we would have to get rid of him as we need players that will be with us for the future.
