We said that vs Chelsea last year and vs utd in the semis but Big Boy Boyata did really, really well in all three games remember! I still cannot get that image out of my head when he went shoulder to shoulder with Drogba and made him look like a U17 player:P

He had a great game against Arsenal though didnt he?

Did not see the tackle but heard it was a 50/50 call? Not a bad decision per se but unlucky? I mean if we cannot allow a youngster to make that kind of "mistake" what can we allow them?

Not sure where he is putting Boyata, Gotta be centrally for me. Or maybe Boyata at Rightback and Micah centrally? Or Boyata at left back?

If Boyata plays in the centre he'll be right and Kompany left (or at least that's how Bob has played them before) - I can't see him moving Micah around when he's found some much needed consistency lately, and Lescott has played leftback for us this season already.

Why change a winning team though? It always backfires.

I agree, but since Kolarov is not on the bench and Zaba is my guess is that Kolarov is sick (flu?) and Zaba has been deemed not fit for 90 mins so he is put on the bench. And we hope we won't need him.

As for Boyata I agree that if he is centrally he will be put at the central right pos. and Kompany left. I think however Boyata will be put at the left back position. MAYBE Micah will be moved left since he has more experience.

*edit*

Holloway congratulation Ferguson on how he handled the Rooney situation.. Seriously?! I feel they were robbed and handled it HORRIBLY. Am I the only one? WE handled Tevez perfectly, they threw money at Rooney and are now paying him the same amount each week as they earn from ticketincome! How is that handling something greatly?

I think Boyata's been unlucky not to have played more. Third place might be on the line but I'm glad he and Wabara are in the squad.

I can only presume that Zabba is considered a bit of a risk, so Boyata is a forced change rather than a planned one. Imo, though, the partnership of Lescott & Kompany is the heart of our success recently. If it's true we are forced to use Boyata, play him at left back, then we only have one position to protect. If we take Lescott out from the centre we are weakening two positions & taking an unneccessary gamble & we're doing it against two players who thrive on uncertainty in the centre. Of course we could get away with it & Boyata could play a blinder but why risk it?

Bob would have done that in September. Let's see if he does it again now or whether he's learned his lesson.

Hasn't Lescott gone out left before for us? Slow as hell, but he has done it.

Not much else he could do with three or four people in the way. This Johnson-on-the-left business is also quite novel.
