I certainly could not argue against Tevez, Kompany ,de Jong, Yaya Silva or even Zab but I have gone for Joe Hart. Keepers don't often get many votes in these things, when was the last time you saw a keeper as FA POTY ?
This season right form the start Joe has made crucial saves in most of our important matches. We got a draw and kept the press off our backs to an extenet when a new look City side got hit hard by last years nemesis Spurs in full preparation for champions league qualification. He kept his standards up making very very few mistakes right through to the tail end when once more he made crucial saves in our most important matches this season in the FA cup semis and final and then again against spurs. He has had to play more matches than anyone else and a keeperes mistakes are always highlighted but Hart came through the season with fewer blemishes than any other 'keeper I can remember.
He needs to work on a few things his distribution in particular is not amongst the best in the league but his improvement on crosses and his superb shot stopping ability put him right at the top.
We have had a great tradition of 'keepers at City going back to Swift and Trautmann through Corrigan and Coton and in recent times Schmeichel briefly and James. Hart is a worthy addition to this list and is my POTY.

Joe Hart for me. 28 clean sheets is an amazing return.

Its Official: I've voted for Nige; you might say its kinda like the Jeremy Irons 'Dead Ringers Oscar syndrome' in that its partly for his consistent high quality over two seasons and being unlucky to be pipped at the post by Tevez last season, but I'm not going to admit to that.
Its been the closest ever race for my affections with four candidates pushing hard for the greater part of the season, and even YaYa making a late surge, but whats swung it for me is the huge difference Nigel makes to our team, both by being in it, and when he's not in it.
Take a bow, son!

I do declare Vincent the winner. Can we send him a T?

I've voted for Kompany. He has been consistently brilliant throughout the season and is quite rightly being recognised for his great season by most fans (of all clubs) and the media. He has become a commanding presence in our side and will undoubtedly be our captain if Tevez decides to move on. He's still young and can only get better. He's starting to form a great partnership with Lescott and will be essential to our title bid next season.

A few mentions also for:
Tevez - fantastic yet again, aside from a slight blip which is the only reason he lost out to Kompany for me. A genuine world class player.
De Jong - has improved massively this season, now not only breaks up play, but keeps possession well and is getting involved in our attacking play more and more.
Lescott - only played half the matches but has largely excelled in his role alongside Kompany. Deserves to maintain his place in the starting 11 next season.
Hart - still only young but the best keeper in the league. Far better all-round keeper than Given and repayed Mancini's faith in him over and over again.
Richards - instead of whinging about new players coming in, he has taken the challenge on board and established himself as our first choice right back. Looking like living up to the potential he showed at 17
Silva - quite simply a joy to watch, I'm in awe everytime I watch him play. He just needs a bit of shooting practice in the summer!

We genuinely have a fantastic squad. Yaya has shown what he is capable of in patches and I'm hoping after a full pre-season he'll hit the ground running next season. Milner, in my opinion, has always played well when in the side and I'm hoping he gets a run in the team at centre-mid next season. Barry has been good in patches and is a great squad player, although still think Milner can do what he does and more. Solid season from Zab and as hard as nails - loves playing for us and is looking like a bargain buy! Balotelli has had plenty of dodgy moments, but has increasingly shown himself to be a team player and seems to be happier now. Overall, I'm pleased with Vieira - he might not have the legs any more, but he is such an intelligent player and always looks for the forward pass, plus the squad clearly love him.

I have concerns over whether AJ, Kolarov, Boyata or Boateng are good enough so next season they have to show what they're capable of. So does Dzeko, but when we deliver the ball into the box he gets onto the end of it so I think he'll start to shine the more he gets used to playing with the team. SWP, sadly, just isn't good enough anymore and will probably move on this summer. I like Jo for some reason but he really needs to be let go, surely we can get 1m for him???

All in all, delighted with the squad. There were plenty of candidates for Player of the Season but Kompany gets the plaudits here!
