Perhaps this will kickstart his career?

The rest of Asia won't give a shit.
HAHA
That's like saying MLS sign Beckscum and everyone will be ecstatic in EUROPE.
Correct me if I'm wrong Tokyo but I've understood that the way to tap into Japanese markets is to actually sign some super top world class player (Messi or Tranaldo really). Japanese culture is probably one of the more complicated to understand for Europeans (again, correct me if I'm wrong but I've read loads about Japanese culture as their customs really intrigue me). They have tendency for adoring and being committed to individual players rather than Clubs.

I know Shinji Ono caused quite a media interest in Japan when he moved to Europe, so buying a Japanese player will definitely get the Japanese media interested. Also allows for opening a fanshop in Japan.
As for Honda, he's pretty good. Not sure if he'll fit in the team, let alone fit in the EPL, as Asian footballers have a tendency of not being strong on the ball. They're excellent at passing and running, but physically, they're not always that great.
There's also a new kid on the block, Ryo Miyaichi. Arsenal snapped him up and loaned him to Feyenoord. Looks promising.

Same now for Inter with Nagatomo, they have been selling lots of shirts of him in Japan and have had lots of Japanese attending their games.
of course both players also had some utility to the club on the pitch, unlike that Chinese guy the rags signed some years ago (do they still have him in their ranks?)

Apparently also known as Ryújin. Now I know how to explain my sons name if I ever meet anyone Japanese.

Too bad you don't have a daughter to name Amaterasu then :P

From what I've gathered Watatsumi (artist also known as Ryujin and Susanoo) tried to kill Amaterasu who was his sister. Not exactly "brotherly love".
