Looking that team sheet over once again, it's half reactionary to recent form and half media bullshit love in ... n'zogbia definitely caught some eyes towards the end of the season ... but how could he or bale be in ahead of Nani, if we're looking at it objectively? Leighton Baines at LB? I guess he has chipped in with some vital goals, but is he left back of the season? If so I'd say that LB has been a particularly weak position this year.

It's hard to call him "rag lover" when he has four from City and three from united there.

Scott Parker licking is fucking awfull phenomena. De Jong has been trillion times better and he hasn't been best holding midfielder in league (in top 5 though). I saw West Ham maybe 12 to 15 times this season and Parker was actually worse than he was in his prime for Charlton. He works hard yes and puts himself about but absolutely nothing exceptional. Problem with holding midfielders is that not many people really understand what they are expected to do and therefore they just wank over some player pundits hype. One of Parker's main duties is to keep West Ham's formationj together and they were all over the fucking place all season. Parker getting POY was nothing short of bizarre. And don't get me wrong, I don't hate Parker, I think he is alright player. Solid and even occasionally pretty good Premier League performer. But best in the league? You have got to be having a laugh.

Just for the record then Antti please fill in the gaps....

3)

5)

As you point out he's in the top 5 which kinda means to me he's 5th? If you rate him 3rd then he'd be in the top 3 or have you really got him at #1 and you're fishing again?

Carrick and Essien had bad seasons in good teams, Lucas has looked a good player for 6 months, Ramires and Sandro have adapted well, Song and Huddlestone are good but can't impose themselves on a game/just aren't as good as De Jong.

For an out and out DM, I don't think there's a better one in the league. Better all round midfielders, sure, not but defensive ones.

Yup agree Esky and that's why I'm intrigued as to who makes up the top 5 holding mids this season.

Delighted for Zaba, even if its only Garth Crooks
(Zaba clearly didn't utter an expletive on camera, then!)

And agreed about Nige; but his 'reputation' probably still blinds too many pundits to his quality.

Leighton Baines at LB? I guess he has chipped in with some vital goals, but is he left back of the season? If so I'd say that LB has been a particularly weak position this year.

Well then you haven't watched him play at all. He's been brilliant, he has a peach of a left foot and a brilliant cross on him. Very good set piece taker aswell. BY far and away Everton's best player this season. Remember the peach of a goal he scored against us. Name me a better left back this season?

got to agree here, baines as been awesome this season, to say he is no good is totally wrong, quality player

I'm happy with his large selection of City players... Proves we have the core of a great team with only minor tweaks needed.

What annoyed me, however, was in his introduction when he made special mention to Ben Foster and Al Habsi... er, forgetting our Joe?!

Notable mentions must go to goalkeepers Ben Foster and Ali Al Habsi, who figured prominently in my team of the week selections but failed to convince me they were more effective than Edwin Van der Sar.

Why isn't Kolarov in there? And what about Barry? Surely Dzeko's two leauge goals should see him ahead of any United player? Garth Crooks is clearly a horrible man.

Absolutely no way am I on a wind up with this. So I'll give it a go although this will only lead into argument people comparing their merits.

Jack Wilshire. More of a box to box but tends to drop deep and can tackle well. I really like this kid.

Essien. No explanation needed I'm sure.

I'm going to hate myself for saying this but Scholes, despite having loads of injury problems, has been suoer solid again when he has played.

So fourth best imo although you could argue that he has played more than Scholesm who in turn has been better spreading the ball and helping in attack.

Wilshire and Essien I'd have over Nigel no doubt. And I'm not trying to slag the lad off at all.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Essien's a better player but he and Mikel were poor this season. Ramires seem their best midfielder for me.

Can't argue re the quality of Scholes or Wilshere. I'd still have De Jong in our system though. Wilshere would play Barry's role in the FM dreamworld. Ginger can fuck off.
