I think it's been fairly well documented why Johnson didn't get a chance. If Johnson is going to get his career back on track he needs to start playing again. His run of injuries is coming into 3 seasons now and fortunately for him he had just signed a big long contract so he'll be well provided for in his life after football if this is the end.
Fans have been very patient but I think it's reached the stage where we realise that he'd be better off in a club that will be better equipped to play him if and when he recovers.
With the season we were having there wasn't a lot of room to give a forward a run of games, especially with Dzeko coming in.
