I'd rather be hated than be everyones second time just coz were a lot shit and everyone liked the gift of points.

Fuck them,i want a pile of trophies now, loads.

I want parades in the future to be four-five buses long a trophy on each,i want Cook drinking tea out of the FA Cup,Bernie drinking his out of the Carling cup,Khaldoon sitting on the champions league trophy,Mansour wearing the league trophy as a hat meanwhile the sandwiches are being delivered on the Community shield.

The end.

Same here, previously my Facebook Rag friends, used to taunt, with a sense of humour and irony. I suppose from a point of view that we were only there to be laughed at.
That's all changed now, hatred and bile in abundance, but at least I now know we can throw it back with interest.

The noisy neighbours are having a party, and we've bought some rottweilers with a large growl and big teeth!!

Lovely article in the Independent today... (I'm being sarcastic, of course).

Balotelli's absence casts shadow over City celebrations

Manchester City's FA Cup parade was soured last night by the absence of Wembley man of the match Mario Balotelli, who ignored the club's instructions to join the open-top bus tour before fans who had waited 35 years for silverware. City manager Roberto Mancini stood accused of affording special treatment to Balotelli by granting him dispensation to miss the parade and also the club's player of the year awards on Sunday night, where he was named young player of the year. Micah Richards collected the prize for the 20-year-old striker.

Mancini's permission to miss the two events did not go down well in all quarters at City, as it flew in the face of a letter chief executive Garry Cook had written to all players, reminding them of their responsibilities to be present and warning them that they would be fined if they did not comply.

Though one source last night suggested that Balotelli had been allowed to leave early for family reasons, the Italian's family know of no such reason and believe he should have remained in Manchester for the events. The player's unpredictable and headstrong nature makes it notoriously difficult to schedule him into public events at the best of times but the reluctance of an individual who commands £170,000-a-week salary to stay a few days longer will not impress supporters who had begun to take him to heart after his difficult season. Balotelli, who flew out to Italy at the weekend, will probably conclude that a fine of two weeks' salary will not hurt him.

City captain Carlos Tevez, whose presence had seemed highly doubtful until four hours before the procession, put in what was to many City executives was a surprise appearance, having delayed a flight home to Buenos Aires until 10pm last night. Tevez was pictured at the back of the bus with the FA Cup as it pulled away from Albert Square in the city centre.

The club's decision to wait until nine days after the Cup final before staging the tour contributed to the difficulties in securing the goodwill of a few players, who might otherwise have left Manchester. But the uncertainties about those players' willingness to meet Cook's requests underlines the problems the club have in controlling some players. Mancini also ducked a scheduled appearance at a press conference in the Lord Mayor's parlour, which was timetabled to take place before the players boarded an open top bus wrapped with a poster of fans doing the "Poznan" celebration which they have made their own.

Mancini's assistant Brian Kidd appeared in his place but it was left to Vincent Kompany – named City fans' player of the year on Sunday and for many a far more natural choice than Tevez as club captain – to express the club's delight last night as he paraded the FA Cup before the cameras. Kompany, who had delayed plans to join up with the Dutch national squad so he would be present at the parade, said the trophy was a signal of the club's intent to win far more.

"We had a good season but the reality is we didn't finish champions, so there's obviously a gap between first place and second and third," Kompany said. "We will do everything we can to bridge that gap and overtake [the others]. If the club decides to buy [this summer] it will make sense, but hopefully this team will be stronger, regardless of that. United – and only United because we've got equal points with Chelsea – have done better than us in those games. We will do better next season than this season and the gap is going to get smaller."

City are preparing for the usual round of stories linking Balotelli to Milan that will almost certainly begin soon – the striker enjoys the attention which accompanies his returns to Italy – but despite initial uncertainties Balotelli has settled in Manchester and will definitely be back at City next season.

As Tevez's future is shrouded in uncertainty for the third successive summer, Kidd said the gap with United would narrow. "When you win something it becomes intoxicating," he said. "You want more of it. Wembley was wonderful, a fantastic atmosphere and without speaking for the lads I think they want more of that."

The responses under it are excellent, though. I'm still wondering why VK would join up with the Dutch squad.

That article (by Ian Herbert) appears in the 'i' (also owned by the Independant) as well - except the last four paragraphs have been taken out and some info merged into one longish paragraph (without the Dutch reference). The guy is a total joke.

"The player's unpredictable and headstrong nature makes it notoriously difficult to schedule him into public events at the best of times but the reluctance of an individual who commands £170,000-a-week salary to stay a few days longer will not impress supporters who had begun to take him to heart after his difficult season. That sums the writer up for me - how many assumptions and how much speculation can you pack into one paragraph?

You mean "i" left in the wildly contradictory part about Balotelli somehow managing to "ignore the club's instructions to join the open-top bus tour" and receiving "dispensation to miss the parade"? I'm starting to think "i" is overpriced at 20p (if that's what it still is). Herbert and Lawton are the worst of a really bad bunch. The Indie football section is more akin to a partisan Man United fanzine than an impartial, objective news source.

Amen John.

I HATED "everyone's second club" tag we used to have. Don't get much more patrionising than that.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Exactly. We were only everyone's second club because we were never a threat to them. Now that's changed and a lot of people don't like it.

But the reality is I couldn't care less what anyone else thinks, we're on the right path now and that's all I'm concerned with.

Walmai Mate...I am gutted for you pal. But...next season will soon change all that for you.

We have all been through this shit many times and we survivied. next season, you will win many more than you lose. You will still cheer every goal and praise every victory. YoUr matchday experience will be a happy one, even Though you will be playing lower quality teams, you will walk from the Boleyn with a winning smile.

Promotion may not be on a par with winning the league or cup mate...but when it happens you will still feel those same emotions. YouR kids will invade the pitch and your hardcore fans will still cry tears of joy. You will paaaaarty through the night, wear your claret with pride and buzz yer balls off.

During the summer, don't read the media and put you fingers in your ears whilst loudly singing Bubbles.

Failing that, you could take a small vacation in Manchester...don a sky blue shirt, take a speech therapy course to rid yourself of that cockney speech impediment and join us in the Townley and at CoMS. We could drink the beer you buy and we could slag you off for being a southern bandwagon jumping glory hunter....BUT YOU WOULD BE VERY WELCOME MATE.

Only get upset over the hatred of the bulk of football fans if you did not give Chelsea the same amount of stick when they turned their side around with massive investment.

I was happy for Chelsea at first but it slowly wore off as they started doing more and more controversial things. They signed Peter Kenyon and decided to be cunts like the rags, they made illegal approaches for players like Ashley Cole and they intimidated refs and had no compunction about kicking teams off the park. They started hoovering up young players from other clubs they shouldn't have been allowed talk to and then promptly forgetting about them. They haven't stopped doing that sort of shite, they don't apologise for it, it's just: "we're rich and powerful, we'll do what we want, FUCK OFF".

I'm not annoyed about SWP, we'd have lost him anyway and we got a fair market value. But I didn't so much like the way they went and signed Ben Haim and Sidwell as Bosmans (and I strongly suspect they were tapped up) when they had no intention of ever playing them. I really didn't like the way they tapped up (allegedly) Sturridge and the way they apparently tried to get Richards to do the same. I didn't like anything to do with the signing of Mikel, though I don't think they were the worst transgressors by a long shot.

I've been hopeful that we wouldn't act that way in the transfer market and so far we've mostly lived up to my hopes. The only real instances of controversy involving us that I can think of came from the signing of Helan and Lescott. The Helan signing is down to a quirk in the French academy rules and we've been relatively well behaved, AFAIK we've been exonerated too. Lescott was just Everton making noise as a negotiating tactic and a sop for their own fans. I don't think they would have kept him at that price, it has a lot in parallel with us and SWP. We all knew the club needed the money but there was a way to delude ourselves that the club wasn't cashing in on a prize asset and that the player wanted to leave. Other than that clubs have been pretty happy with how we've conducted business.
