that website is now relocated to http://www.mcfc-serbia.net/ and it looks pretty damn good.

cheers.

Do you have something to do with the running of the site?

I'm going to try and get to Novi Sad, probably for the first match vs Spurs of the season (depending on the fixture list) to meet up with a Spurs-supporting mate, if you fancy a bit of Yid-baiting...

Also, you mentioned the proliferation of knock-off City shirts in Sarajevo bascarsija. What kind of quality are they? I'm tempted by the new away, but don't want to pay 40 quid plus if I can get a decent replica for 15KM.

got nothing to do with that site.

you can pm me when you sort your trip to Novi Sad.

as for the shirts, didnt really touch em...but theyre standard pijaca quality. plus, on the OS theres always some discount and stuff...

just cant see myself buyin a city shirt at the market place!

He's the first big-name Bosnian player to play in the Premiership - the most-watched league amongst younger people - so there's going to be a lot of support switching to City. Also, older fans without a 'real' team to support (ie just general football fans) will become City fans, and pretty much every City game will now be shown on national TV (as was the case with Wolfsburg when Dzeko and Misimovic were there). Therefore, over the next couple of seasons, virtually everyone aged maybe 14-17 will become a City fan.

Nool- what's the affinity for Ibrahimovic amongst Bosnian diaspora in Sweden? I'd have thought that there'd have been some massive PR drive to promote him as a prime example of integration to the ex-Yugoslav community.

I don't really meet that much Bosnians anymore, since moving abroad, so I wouldn't really know. I reckon there's quite a lot of pride within the Bosnian and Croat communities, though (mum's Croat). I don't think anyone uses him as a flagship for integration, though. If it wasn't for football, he'd probably not be any different that any other Balkan kid from one of the bad big city suburbs.

Isn't he from Rosengård as well?

Wonder what Bosnians think about Ibrahimovic though? I mean he was born in Sweden.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

His father was desperate for him to play for Bosnia, though, and he was considered 'Bosnian' by a lot of nationalist/villager types, and also was probably the most famous person (for positive reasons) with Bosnian heritage in the world until about five years ago. Going on the presence of fake shirts on sale in Sarajevo (a decent indicator of club/player popularity in most countries) he's pretty popular there.

This is something interesting for the Ozzies on here- about 50 players with Croatian/Bosnian Croat ancestry have represented the Socceroos, in spite of them making up something like 0.2% of the country's population.

No, not really. Was forced to turn away from the TV set.

Are you trying to say that you don't like Pablo Zabaleta in homosexual way? I do. And I most certainly will not turn away from TV set during an intercourse.
