Wonder if he sees that as a bonus or as a curse ? The Europa League could end up costing him his job if it streches the squad & spoils their league form.

Fair play indeed Leslie, it would have been a bit of a joke having two championship sides in the Europa next season

i feel the same way...dunno why people are blasting him. i believe he worked hard for City and i hope he does well enough at Fulham to defeat Spurs , Chelsea and the Arse in every derby they play.

Here is the fair play league

http://www.premierleague.com/page/FairPlayTable

Fulham finished 4th and beat Blackpool by 0.01 points!!

City finished a very creditable 10th with Newcastle finishing bottom - thanks Joey!

Our officials were very well behaved but I guess with Naughty Nigel, Crazy Zabba and Mad Mario in our team we were doomed at the outset!

Yeah well once they stopped trying to actually beat the opposition they got extra points for respect and less deductions for yellows and reds cos they couldn't even be bothered to foul or dive, never mind score or harass the officials. Maybe they will use this as their route into Europe next season and finally win something - the fair play league!

Their new chant could be "1-0 to the Arsenal.....but well played the opposition you put up a spirited display and to be honest we just had a bit more luck on the day"

Wenger's interviews will all be "The ref was magnificent and Stoke's players we very unlucky with the timing of their tackles and three of our players deserved to have broken legs because they looked at the linesman in a funny way at one point"

Whilst you can't really begrudge Birmingham their European place having won the cup, I agree that that would've been a bit shit.

Maybe they should change the criteria to being that the highest placed team in BOTH league and on fair play tables gets it, with equal weight given to each. That would've been Fulham anyway, having finished 8th and 1st respectively. West Brom would've been next up with 11th and 7th respectively.
