Uwe to be named Brentford manager

Postby craigmcfc » Thu Jun 09, 2011 8:56 am

Breaking news on SSN is that Uwe Rosler is to be named the new Brentford manager tomorrow. Good luck to him, who knows in a few years time this could be the job that progressed him on his way to being our manager eventually

Lets hope we don't draw them in the cup next season ... that game still gives me nightmares

great news for Uwe. If we play in London next year and they are at home the same weekend I might go and see them!
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

How'd they do last season in League One? Will definitely keep an eye out for their results next season.

I think MJ should do a 3 month rehab loan at brentford.

Ahh my wife was on his flight on Sunday, bringing him from somewhere in Germany with his kids, who I think had actually been in Germany with the City under16's or something.

Wife said he was a really charming polite chap, chatted to all the crew and other passengers. She didnt know who he was at the time, until she pointed him out as he got into a black Audi and said " oh that guy was on my flight he was really cool" (while I was picking her up from arrivals)

"Its UWE!!!!" I tried to catch up and give him a wave but his driver flawed it.

Brentford are my new 2nd team.

Good luck Uwe!

Maybe a pre-season friendly could be arranged?

Hope all goes well for Uwe. A true City legend, someone who not just played for the club but loved the club. I love players like these who 10-15 years after leaving the club still use the term 'we' when talking about City, like Goater. 99% of players aren't like this and that's fine, but still great when you get 1 or 2 slipping through every now and then :-)

I'll def be keeping a close eye on Brentford's results from now on.

Thingg is Uwe, just like Dickov, turned into genuine Blues. I mean they are supporters just like you and me really. When Uwe is doing well it really feels like one of our own is doing well.

I hope we send some youngsters there to get blooded and help him out! Would love to play them just to spend 90 mins singing his name!

and sing about his grandad too! ;-)

Brentford are now officially my second team!!
"If we fire our manager after just one bad season - We'll become Chelsea"
"If we think we can fix the problem by buying expensive players - We'll become City"
"If we remember the good times to entertain us during the bad times - We'll become Liverpool"

So, keep calm and do it the United way

"We invest in young players, That is what we are good at — we’re not like other clubs who can spend fortunes on proven goods. We know that Manchester City are going to pay stupid money, pay silly salaries and all that. We can’t do anything about it. We concentrate on what we can do to try to bring players in for the right reasons. We invest in those who will be with the club for a long time, who will create the character of the club, who will create excitement for our fans. We are very proud of that and we are going to continue that way" - Alex Ferguson 14th May 2012

Strange to be given a 2 1/2 year deal in the summer time. You'd have thought 3 or 2 would be more logical
