Absolute perfect back up for Silva, but he wouldnt be coming to us as back up.

Barcelona aren't exactly giants,by your rationale Messi is too small to play for us.Perhaps you should follow Rugby instead.

Modric is like a playmaker from deep, every bit as good as Silva.

Only Yaya Toure ahead of the back four is over 5 foot 9. We can't beat every team playing sexy football.

Modric is absolute World Class, would love to have him and it would severely weaken Spurs.

Who else?
De Jong- 5'8.5"
Sanchez- 5'6"
Modric- 5'7"
Silva- 5'7"
5'8"

Or is it the sexy football comment? Remember, it's not just the 'teams' we have to beat, but also pitches and weather conditions.

It was the "can't beat every team playing sexy football" statement.I think De Jong could hold his own against the biggest bruisers.Also Milner and Johnson are not exactly dwarves.

I was talking specifically about that line-up.

I think we normally put out a starting XI with an average height taller than most seasons since the mid '90s at the moment. I know height isn't everything, but that lineup wouldn't be the solution for everything. Far from it, in all competitions, actually.

We can rotate,I think Modric would be an excellent purchase.What if Silva picked up an injury,we need competition for every place.

At the risk of sounding like Slim, is there any chance some of you lot could learn how to quote?

I'd like to see Modric come in, as it would take the burden off Silva being our main creative player. Spurs would want a small fortune for him though.

I really doubt it, Harry rates him very highly, and taking into cosideration he's a key figure in the Spurs team I really can't see him leaving them (and especially ending up joining us).

To be, or not to be: that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them? To die: to sleep;
No more; and by a sleep to say we end
The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to, 'tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wish'd. To die, to sleep;
To sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there's the rub;
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
Must give us pause: there's the respect
That makes calamity of so long life;
For who would bear the whips and scorns of time,
The oppressor's wrong, the proud man's contumely,
The pangs of despised love, the law's delay,
The insolence of office and the spurns
That patient merit of the unworthy takes,
When he himself might his quietus make
With a bare bodkin? who would fardels bear,
To grunt and sweat under a weary life,
But that the dread of something after death,
The undiscover'd country from whose bourn
No traveller returns, puzzles the will
And makes us rather bear those ills we have
Than fly to others that we know not of?
Thus conscience does make cowards of us all;
And thus the native hue of resolution
Is sicklied o'er with the pale cast of thought,
And enterprises of great pith and moment
With this regard their currents turn awry,
And lose the name of action. - Soft you now!
The fair Ophelia! Nymph, in thy orisons
Be all my sins remember'd.

Will that do ?
