I agree, but can you see Mancini offering Tevez the same deal?

Niall Quinns Discopants wrote:Oh, and him being coach for us is just mancityfans.net talk. No one from the Club has even hinted about such possibility. So there's Mancini's judgement right there. No offence.

I was going by this bit in the opening post:

City boss Roberto Mancini is also thought to have offered the ex-Arsenal man a coaching role at Eastlands.

Fair enough.

Although with armada of coaches we already have, I don't believe it for a second.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

So you'd be willing to give up a squad place for that? When you consider players like Bellamy missed out on the squad.

Fair enough, thought he meant as a player. I don't quite understand the love affinity towards him, he was ordinary at best. Did an ok job but his playing days at the top level are over.

Think peoples respect goes to him due to the fact the younger player looked up to him as some kind of motivational inspiration due the amount of winners medals he got at Arse and France.

Naturally, reading the thread title, I thought Paddy had spent a night in his own piss on a plastic matress.

Sorry Paddy.

Thanks Patick. Good value for a freebie and your contribution coming on as sub to break up Spurs in our penultimate home game, was your best in a Blue shirt.

The time has come though. Coaching role? Yes, playing role? No.

Just signed for Juventus on free. I was thinking that we missed that one a bit when I heard it. I thought Pirlo could've done similar job to Vieira for us.

Vieira now still in talks with City about staying in some capacity. This story can just run and run ... unlike Patrick himself.

Let's see if this story has legs to it.

That's a big relief on the wage bill. Hopefully some of the kids will see more action or SWP and MIlner.

He gave me nightmares when he first played for us, but the latter part of his City career saw him poutting in some important performances, and as all have said, his was a top influence and helps with the winning mentality. THought he might do another year actually.

I'll be surprised if Wenger isn't trying to tempt him away to the Arse.

No argument his legs had gone, but he did give Roberto an option to change a game that will be hard to replace.

He supplied the final pass for some vital goals, and chipped in with a few of his own at the right time, his timing when running into the box at set pieces was still there and he managed to cause enough problems to create gaps for others.

He aways found space, and the little 5 yard passes that upset some, ate up time while the defence got reorganised or the attack got into position, and he also provided a fair few defence splitting balls.

I know there are a lot of supporters who never saw the benifit of playing him, but the result of him being there more often than not led to the game swinging our way,

My understanding is that if he does get taken on as a coach the contract would include him staying a regisered player for next season, so maybe we aint seen the last of Paddy in a City shirt ;0)
