More news; from the daily fail this time:

Nasri looks absolutely delighted to be unveiling their new 'jockey' kit

Arsenal exodus underway as £7m Clichy heads to Man City with Fabregas out next
By John Edwards

Manchester City are closing in on £7million Gael Clichy as Arsenal brace themselves for the imminent loss of three established senior players.

Despite suggestions Everton left-back Leighton Baines could be Eastlands-bound, Sportsmail understands Clichy is Roberto Mancini's preferred choice for one of City's problem positions and that a deal is close.
With key midfielders Cesc Fabregas and Sami Nasri also heading out of the Emirates, it leaves Arsene Wenger under greater pressure than at any tme in his Arsenal reign.
Exit I: Gael Clichy (left) is set to pull on the blue of Man City next season
Exit II: Fabregas could leave
Already under the spotlight for Arsenal's continuing trophy drought, Wenger knows significant signings are needed to calm the wrath of supporters who will be up in arms at the departure of three such influential figures.

The saga of Fabregas' return to Barcelona may at last be drawing to a close, after an improved offer from the European champions, while Nasri looks increasingly likely to complete a controversial move to Old Trafford.

As revealed in Sportmail, contract rebel Nasri has overtaken Tottenham's Luka Modric and Inter Milan playmaker Wesley Sneijder as Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson's prime target for the attacking midfield role vacated by the retired Paul Scholes.

Wenger faces a dilemma over the France midfielder, who refuses to renew a contract that has just 12 months to run and is believed to be keen on the idea of bolstering United's attacking options.
The Arsenal boss would rather sell to the likes of Inter Milan, than one of his main Barclays Premier League rivals, but is mindful he is in danger of losing Nasri for nothing this time next year.

Sportsmail understands he will attempt to deter United with a £15m asking price but that Ferguson will meet it to add Nasri's flair to his other recent signings, Aston Villa winger Ashley Young, Blackburn centre-back Phil Jones and Atletico Madrid keeper David de Gea.
Clichy also looks bound for Manchester, as Mancini pepares to kick-start his summer recruitment drive.

Exit III: Samir Nasri poses in the new Arsenal strip but he might be wearing United's colours next season

Image

The City manager is eager to acquire a proven, attack-minded left-back, after allowing Wayne Bridge to join West Ham on loan last season and seeing £16m signing Aleksander Kolarov struggle to adapt to English football, and has earmarked Clichy as the ideal candidate.
Like Nasri, Clichy is entering the final year of his Arsenal contract and has made it clear he wants a fresh start. Liverpool, Roma and Paris St Germain have all expressed an interest in the pacy France defender, but City have emerged as clear favourites to win the race and land him..

Though Baines has been linked with Arsenal, and might be seen as a ready-made replacement for Clichy, it is thought Wenger is ready to place his faith in Kieron Gibbs to fill the gap on the left of Arsenal's defence.

It gets worse for Arsenal:

Arsenal continue to track Barton and Enrique as doubts persist about Clichy's future

Newcastle midfielder Joey Barton is continuing to attract surprise interest from Arsenal.

Arsene Wenger confidant Steve Rowley watched three of Newcastle's games towards the end of the season as he ran the rule over Jose Enrique and Cheik Tiote, but it was Barton who received glowing reports.

The 28-year-old had one of his best seasons last term following on from an impressive year in the Championship when his crosses from the right wing helped Andy Carroll forge a reputation that ultimately earned the club £35million.
Midfield battler: Joey Barton has been watched by Arsenal
Barton wanted to stay at Newcastle but is now ready to leave after being shocked by their reluctance to agree terms on a new contract - even though he was willing to take a pay cut.

The club have sold his good friend Kevin Nolan to West Ham and may yet offload Jose Enrique, Jonas Gutierrez and Alan Smith depending on what offers they receive.

Newcastle want around £4million for Barton who has one year left on his current deal but a deal for considerably less could be brokered - particularly as the window draws to a close.

That is when Arsenal plan to make a move and it will leave Newcastle with a tough choice as they do not want to lose him for nothing next summer or from January when long-time admirer Frank Arnesen may try to lure him to Hamburg.
Arsenal also remain interested in left-back Enrique amid ongoing concerns over Gael Clichy's future.

they have loads of cover for Fabs to be honest...Arse fans aren't that upset by Fabregas leaving. Bringing Barton in for a few million would be the steal of the summer if Arsenal do it. They need some steel, and honestly, as much as we piss on him, Barton would do wonderfully at Arsenal.

Wouldn't be the worst City signing ever if we brought Joey Barton back either. Tin hat? i'm like Sir Lancelot.

cheers

Good signing this if it happens.

Clichy is fast as fook on the flank, we need that badly. Add to that he has years of prem experience under his belt as well as champs league experience, he defends ok as good as kolorov anyways.

All for 7 million! A steal!

Nice signing this if true, well in bobby!

Interesting read. I still think Clichy's dip in form has (not coincidentally) coincided with Arsenal gradually getting mentally weaker and becoming more spineless with the month. Clichy is not a leader. And he's played alongside some shockingly shit defensive players. He needs to be in a team full of leaders. At City he'd be fine...I really really believe that.

Ok. Under Wenger I cant think of anyone who has gone on to better things.

Upson is at best a mid table centre half. Not better than Arsenal. They have a knack of getting rid of players at the right time.

Seaman, Ade, Toure. They do quite well out of us.

Add Hleb to that list!

Would Ashley Cole, Vieira and Henry count as having gone on to do better things?

not Vieira or Henry for sure...Cole i suppose, but that was a cunt's move, no? hardly blame Wenger for that one.

Ross might have a pretty good point here historically, but i think the tide is changing for Wenger. Players now want to move to win, and he can't hold onto talent. Even Ade tbh could have gone onto bigger and better things. They've yet to replace him.

There was someone on 5 live a few weeks ago saying that one of the little mentioned reasons was due to the wage structure at Arsenal where young players come in like Denilson, Diaby & Song come in straight away on good money for their age (30-40k a week when there on the fringes of the tea) and as a result of this policy when it comes to players making and wanting top wages in line with the rooney's of the world (adebayor & nasri) they cannot offer those wages without breaking their wage structure.

So players like Bendtnar and Song are earning above average for their ability/age, Nasri is earning considerably less
