It sacres me to death that he likes Hamsik.

He is hardly going to say, "Hamsik? Nah, he's fucking bob. I'd send him back if I won him in a raffle" now, is he?

Well there are about 50 thousand other players he didn't mention, so he could have just not fucking mentioned him couldn't he, you great palooka ?

Maybe he didn't bring the subject up and was asked a direct question about him.

What's wrong with Hamsik? I like him. Wouldn't really suit our system but generally as a player.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I just think he looks like the absolute epitome of the nailed on Premier League failure.

Someone Rafa Benitez would sign if he was Spanish.

Do you mean his lack of elite pace?

I think he is fantastic system player. In sort of a Bergkamp role he could really flourish. I think he'd be good on top of midfield diamond as well. As a Slovak, I'm not sure he'd have great adjustment problems either. Having said that, we don't play any of those systems so I'm not sure he'd be good for us.

The only time I have seen him was iun the World Cup last summer and he was not great, but then neither were the players around him.

Exciting new concept all round.

I think Ruthless has great skill in his colourful use of language and I, for one, hope he never changes his style. Makes me smile whenever I read any of his comments, which really strike to the core.

Pace is one thing but I just don't like the look of him & don't see what he would offer us. I also don't like the way his game disintegrates when things go a bit wrong, like a footballing Andy Murray. Those kind of players usually go to pieces in the Premier League.

We've got Nasri! Manchester City claim £19m deal

Manchester City believe they have captured Arsenal playmaker Samir Nasri for £19million.

The deal is close to completion and will represent a significant victory for City with both Manchester United and Chelsea also keen on landing the Frenchman.

The fact that City are grabbing Nasri just 24 hours after Carlos Tevez told Sportsmail of his wish to leave the club is also seen as an important moment for a club who will play in the Champions League for the first time this season.

After the signing of Gael Clichy for £7m earlier this week, the Nasri move represents another serious loss for Arsenal to one of their Barclays Premier League rivals.

City are also tracking a frontline replacement for Tevez and expect another transfer powerplay by owner Sheik Mansour within the next week.

City have dug their heels in over Tevez's Eastlands future and insist he will not be allowed to leave for less than £50m.

The club's unhappy skipper was hoping for a swift resolution to his demand for a move after issuing a statement that he wanted to switch to a country where his family, including his two daughters, would be happy to settle.

But City are in no mood to relent over a valuation that looks like dashing his hopes of a move to Real Madrid in Spain or Juventus or Inter Milan in Italy and forcing him to stay against his wishes.

Great Daily Mail article - we haven't made any claim whatsoever but don't let that get in the way of a headline!

Hope it's true though. Think he'll be a great player for us.

'City got Nasri' articles are now flooding the internet:

http://www.express.co.uk/football/view/ ... ester-City?

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... witch.html?

http://www.emirates247.com/sports/footb ... 6-1.406208?

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sp ... Nasri.html

Just need to listen to Talkshite now to hear the pressure building on Arsenal (again). I'm currently in a job in the middle of nowhere, and as well as a very limited time on a laptop the only salvation is Talkshite. I've found that all the presenters talk shite all day (much of it deliberate, to provoke) but that the information coming in is pretty spot on (and quicker than the tortoises at SSN). Perry Groves works for them a bit and seems to have the inside track on all things Arsenal.

This seems far from over with arsenal allegedly coming out today and saying he isn't going anywhere at any price.

He certainly does seem likely. I have kinda mixed feelings if he does come to us, because until we deal with the tevez situation I don't think I'll feel at all settled that we can make further progress next season. On form from last season you'd be silly not to want nasri in your team tho. More twists and turns before this one is settled I guess.

It makes me wonder how much tevez is holding up the market, with inter and real maybe stymied a bit which impacts everything from Wesley to modric to nasri to fabs to Sanchez etc.

Cheers

Left it a bit late. I doubt Arsenal would want to have him on their doorstep.

Agreed.

Strengthening a London rival would be far worse to the fans and for the image of the club.

I'd imagine if Arsenal had to sell to a club that would least damage there chances of winning the title and best received by the fans, it would be us.

With this in mind I firmly still believe Nasri could well be city bound.
