Teams will be picked based on form, fitness, importance of the match and the opponent. Against quick wingers, I'd expect to see Clichy, with Kolarov getting the games before or after and similar will happen around the rest of team.

This would be my ideal starting XI next season.
.................... Hart .......................
MR2 .... Komps ....... Lescott ..... Clichy
.............. Yaya .... NDJ ..................
Nasri .............. Silva ........... Balotelli
................ Tevez .........................
Bench: Random GK (no idea), Savic, Zabaleta, Milner, Barry, Dzeko, AJ
I'd drop Yaya a little deeper to accommodate Nasri and Balo and drop Barry to the bench. I'd expect we'd have so much possession that Yaya would be given a license to get forward if he wanted to so he wouldn't be restricted. I chose MR2 over Zab because I love the idea of Clichy and him using their explosive pace on each side. Flying full-backs overlapping providing width - exactly what we need. Their mere presence will stretch the game. Nasri, Silva, Balo and Tevez can all go wherever they want - Barca-esque 'Tiki-Taki'.....
I'd be tempted to take Barry of the bench too and put Kolarov on their just because he'd give us more offensive options.
I think that team though would destroy most. Strength, pace (Nasri and Clichy would add loads), skill, determination, leadership, maturity. We'd be formidable.

yeah you'd hope so, because it would be a real shame for players like adam johnson and zabaleta to become 'second string'. it's a long season and we're in a lot of competitions, they'll all be needed. what i don't want to see is a 'carling cup team' and a 'champions league team' i want to see quality peppered through the team in every single game injuries permitting. getting seriously excited about it all now!
