Valeri Bojinov's agent has confirmed the Parma striker is in talks over a loan move to Sporting.

The Portuguese giants have made a move for the 25-year-old striker after he spent most of last season on the bench at Parma.
The Bulgaria international has attracted interest from several Europeans clubs this summer but it is believed Parma are only prepared to let him leave on loan rather than making a permanent transfer.

And although Sporting are leading the race for the former Lecce and Fiorentina forward, his agent insisted it is not yet a done deal.

"I can confirm Sporting are one of the sides who are very interested in Bojinov and are in negotiations for a possible transfer," Gennaro Palomba told A Bola newspaper.

"However, I am not yet certain he will go to Sporting, because there are other teams who are interested.

Malaga interest

"It's true that Malaga are tracking Bojinov, but also other top level European clubs.

"Sporting's interest has been noted for quite some time."

Bojinov returned to Italy on a permanent basis last summer after Manchester City loaned him to Parma for the 2009/10 season, during which he scored eight goals from 30 league appearances, although only 15 were starts.

But Bojinov saw even less action this term, starting just 13 of his 31 games and scoring three goals.

He would face even more competition at the Stadio Ennio Tardini next season too, with Parma having already boosted their squad with the likes of Fabio Borini, Graziano Pelle and Nicola Sansone this summer.

Funny, I was in Bulgaria last Fri/Sat....I was talking about City to a cab driver and mentioned our two previous Bulgars

Re Bojinov he had one word to offer....."Shithead"....I laughed

Nasri played in deep lying playmaker role where I remember him being used in the past as well. Nasri isn't really winger at all imo but he was used on the leftside of their midfield diamond alot. He can play across the midfield but personally I see his best position as traditional central midfield playmaker or even box-to-box midfielder.

For what it's worth, I'd like Nasri as he'd be improvement on Barry which is what I am looking for in this summer's transfer window.

I don't rate Bale even half as much as most people do.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Vastly overrated footballer, few stand out performances against an ageing Inter Milan rightback (one when they were already 4-0 down) and suddenly everyone raved about him.

Saying that his goal against Stoke last season was an absolute peach

Liverpool are trying to hijack Manchester City's move for Montenegro star Stefan Savic, skysports.com understands.

However, the Reds' late efforts look set to be in vain as the 20-year-old is believed to be fully focused on completing a move to Eastlands.

Savic arrived in England on Monday evening ahead of a planned medical with City, whilst talks over a potential £6million deal continued.

Skysports.com understands Liverpool have made moves to try and prise him away from City's grasp.

But the Partizan Belgrade defender is believed to have his heart set on a move to City and will seemingly not let any rival interest deter him.

The 20-year-old is regarded as one of the best young defenders in Europe, so it is little surprise Liverpool have shown an interest.

Apparently Liverpool have had 15 million bid for Stewart Downing rejected. 15 million for Downing??? Insane. The guy is absolute epitomy of "yesterdays news". Great left foot, no pace whatsoever, little football brain, good at taking set pieces. And he is 27 as well.

Did they just sell Ashley Young for 19m? And now rejected 15m for Stewart Downing. Crazy.

In fairnesss though, they paid 12m for him and he was there player of the year last year so 3m profit for the poty doesnt seem worth it. I agree though i think villa were robbed in 1st place by boro and are now in turn robbing Liverpool who will of course pay it, especially since they paid 20m for henderson, id rather downing over henderson any day of the week!

Surely with a bit of imagination and a decent scouting network theres much better value outside of the Uk?

Liverpools transfer strategy is madness. If the rumours are to be believed they're willing to flog Meireless, one of their stand out players last year, to make room for Henderson/Downing etc.

I'd have Meireless over both of them

Porto star striker Hulk has offered a thinly-veiled plea for Chelsea to meet his contract release clause, which is reportedly worth a staggering €100million (£89.5m).

The Brazil international has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge for more than a year and speculation has increased following Andre Villas-Boas' appointment.

Former Porto boss Villa-Boas is rumoured to want free-scoring Hulk as part of his remodelling process at Chelsea.

But the 24-year-old only signed a five-year contract extension in May to mean that Roman Abramovichwould have to pay a world-record fee to secure the forward.

"I have signed for five years at Porto and my desire is to see out the deal," Hulk is quoted as saying in Portuguese media.

"I believe that it is not easy to pay my release clause. But if any club is able, it is Chelsea. If Abramovich arrives with the money, this is positive for the club (Porto).

"But I insist that my head is with Porto."
