You've met resistance because you post into multiple threads. Generally folks round here are a nice bunch :D

Thats a fair point, but i am not allowyed as a new member to post a thread. but I do see your point.

Sometimes it seemed as if we were using zonal & sometimes a mixture of zonal & man for man marking & it was very shakey & cost us quite a few goals, mainly I think due to players not doing their jobs. Therefore the 'mixture' bit could have been down to players getting it wrong. Whatever it was, it worked quite well in some later games but still fell to pieces in others. If you were to ask City's coaches for the definitive answer, I recon they would say we use a mixture of both.

We still haven't perfected it yet but it does seem to be starting to click now.

For me Lescott summed up City in alot of ways last season. Irratic, inconsistent and sometimes missing or totaly dominant for the first 28 league games then he and City were immense in the remaing 10

Bit premature.

Also, I just saw somewhere that this feller is 6'1. While not exactly midget, that's well below average for centerback in Premier League.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

You are right mate, maybe one day he can take Joleon's place would be better.

Nah, that's perfectly fine, especially for someone who can cover fullback. I'd say the average cb is 6'2", maybe 6'3", which makes Savic hardly "well below average".

Phil Jones is 5'11".

Well that's a load of rubbish.

Terry, Luiz, Vidic, Vermaelen, Carragher, Lescott, Gallas etc are all between 6fit and 6'2...he's about average!

Vidic is listed 6ft2. That one inch is quite alot when you are facing someone in aerial challenge.

But like I said, I have never seen this guy play. Maybe he can jump really high? Maybe he is extremely dominant in the air? I don't know really. What I do know though is that we have lot of people here telling me now that "he is someone who can play fullback" and shit like that. Where have these people seen him play?

He looks taller than 6ft 2 to me. The question of whether he's good in the air comes down to strength & technique/timing anyway. Provided he's not a foot smaller than Vinny/Lescott it will be purely down to ability as to whether he can defend as well in the air.

I wish people would stop the personal vendettas against Lescott though & give him the same leeway as Vinny or our other defenders, to do his job very well & make the odd mistake, exactlt like like Vinny does. It's as if people just want him out no matter how he plays. If this bloke gets a game ahead of him, he'll have to be fucking brilliant.

A great article on Savic, gives a great impression of the player we have bought.

He sounds very promising!

Fair enough.

Having read all the posts here and couple of other football forum I smell "Championship Manager legend". Can someone confirm that? I mean, I find it highly unlikely so many people would know so much about him otherwise. If I'm completely honest, I heard first time about him when we were linked to him first time few months back.

You seem very sceptical about this lad. Any particular reason?
