Karl-Heinz Rummenigge..

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge..

Postby Blue Blood » Sat Jul 09, 2011 11:23 am

Bayern Munich chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has blasted City for their refusal to engage in negotiations over defender Jerome Boateng.

The defender, who joined City for £10 million from Hamburg last summer, struggled to break into Roberto Mancini team during his debut season in the Premier League, which was hampered by injury.

Boateng has made clear that he would like to force through a move to Bayern, saying: ''I would like to go to Munich. On my side everything is clear.''

But, judging by Rummenigge's comments, a deal remains nowhere near completion - despite reports last month stating Boateng had agreed a four-year deal with the Bundesliga giants.

"They are using a tactic I've never seen," Rummenigge said. "They don't respond, even if we try to contact them. I think they are going to have 48 players under contract but according to Financial Fair Play they can have only 25.

"According to their last balance sheet, if I'm correct, they're down £127m. Maybe they still have a trick up their sleeves but I'm not sure that they will be permitted to play in the Champions League.
"

City have already signed two defenders in the transfer window, Stefan Savic and Gael Clichy, pushing Boateng even further out of the first-team picture.

Hmmm well I'm thinking given Bayern publicly stated they were willing only to pay £6 million for Boateng theres little point in talking.

Bitter bloody germans, Just because you are Bayern Munich doesn't mean we have to sell when you come knocking.

Where do these "big clubs" get off lording it over everyone else! It's like they believe they live in a stratosphere where because of there history they have special rights!

Bayern wants Bayern gets...

Jog on Karl.

While I wouldn't be overly arsed about Boateng leaving, what a complete tool this guy is. He's our player, we'll do what we like with him and the decision to sell is ours, not yours, you twat.

1. FFP says nothing about how many players you can have registered, the English FA and UEFA regulations say you can only have 25 registered for either competition, but can have as many as you like under contract.

2. They offered £6M, we want £17M, how do they know that if we never responded?

3. This is the same moron that said Ribery wouldn't leave for less than €100M and he is crying foul over exorbitant prices?

This is dead simple, give us what we paid for him, ask the player to put in a transfer request so we don't have to pay up his contract, and he's all yours.

At least I hope that's our stance on this.

Interesting coming from the same club who set an £18m price tag on Hargreaves and refused to even talk to Man United until they met their valuation. I suggest he looks at themselves for where we learned this one.

The arguments that Rummenigge have are solid as toilet paper for me. These words are from a man that did everything he could to sack Van Gaal after he won them the league and cup, and reached the UCL final in his first year.

Sounds like Rumenigge has thrown his dummy out of the pram......perhaps City should send him a box of nappies (in City blue of course).

Aww...big, massive Bayern Munich can't push around little ol' City.

Welcome to the new world Rummenigge - we dictate the transfer market and you play by our rules. If you want Boateng that much, pay up!

In more serious note, if Nasri deal doesn't materialise then why not offer them Boateng and bit of dough for Schweinsteiger?
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

This smug oaf demonstrates yet again what a joyless, arrogant club Bayern Munich are. When people speak of the great European club teams of the past, there are several that crop up again and again - the Real Madrid in the 'fifties and 'sixties, Ajax of the 'seventies, Milan of the late 'eighties... Bayern Munich are never talked of in such glowing, wistful terms because they were a mechanical team of arrogant automatons, churning out success. I recall the hypocritical bleating that came out of Bayern after Everton had beaten them in the European Cup Winners Cup Semi Final of 1985. It was typical of a club that looks down its nose on those it considers beneath them.

Rummenigge, and the equally cold, aloof Franz Beckenbauer are respected, but I also believe them to be widely disliked for their arrogance. The sheer haughtiness of Bayern Munich and Rummenigge should act as just another spur for City to bring down these bloated institutions.

Remarkable stuff. Quite staggering that he can come out with this stuff, but rather nice proof that we are amongst the top clubs now.

On a sidenote, if I'd rap, I'd call myself Karl-Heinz Rum-n-nigga. My trademark would be sipping Caribbean Rum on the cover of my albums. My debut album would be called "Yo! Ho ho!.....And A Bottle of Rum".
